ParticipantBlimey! Not another one.
Regular readers of this esteemed site might recall a Bosch washer dryer with a fractured spider unit that was difficult, initially at least, to suss out. This post is about a 3 year old Neff built in w/dryer model V6320X0GB with drum bearing failure, depressing stuff at 3 years old you`d have to agree. The nitty grity is that although you can buy the rear bearings at around a rip off 40 quid a piece via Neff this particular failure I`m pretty sure is going to need a new spider….alas it only come`th with a new drum at £230..a snip! And what`s worse both I and said owner reckon the rear half tank might too be damaged by shrapneled bearings around the oil seal area- I do wish owners would stop using their pride and joy when they first know there`s a problem, crazy- rear half tank with factory fitted bearings £230, another snip. So we have 460 worth of parts plus £22 for a tank seal £482 plus labour on a 3 year old £750 machine.
I`ll let you draw your own conclusions least I get attacked, yet again, by other members on this site who have some strange fixation with the more something costs the better it`ll be…they are of course totally deluded but then they might be flogging the stuff so have to keep the old nonsense alive: no money in £200 machine sales.1totalshambles

I urge everyone to browse through Andy’s website, he so thoughtfully provided in the post above. If you thought this thread is packed with priceless information his website is the ‘War & Peace’ all things white goods. And if you live in the Reading area then for you it just gets better! 😉
Outrageous sarcastic comment… I`m shocked! So that`s No tea and biscuits for Martin.
No, really, thanks for your comments and yes that site is too long but the old micro business keeps the old git going until he finally has to give it all up circ next year. Cheers!1totalshambles

Iadom has been angered!
I pay homage to the great one. And I apologize, obviously no sense of humour.Yes I`ve read your wretched article and most of it is correct I even direct people verbally to read the sacred script.
And yes the Hotpoint spider is a poor example to photograph as most get much worse than that with bloody great holes eaten through them forming a skeleton of their former selves Mostly the only spider/bearing changes I do these days are Hotpoints WM ( as per your picture ) and WMA series because the parts can come separate, are affordable, easily obtainable and people like them fixed because they cannot bear to buy a 2016 piece of tosh which will fail in a few years. The only recent make that I`ve come across where bearings seem to last somewhat longer is, as odd as it sounds, Hoover and Candy as I don`t get much trouble with these things. But even with your optimistic approach you`d have to agree that Bosch are not what they once were and yes their dishwashers are really rubbish, you`d be better off with a ProAction or a Bush ( more or less the same machines ). Never said it was specific to Bosch, I even mentioned Miele. As to `smelly washing machine` article this doesn`t mention where the spider can crack and that`s my point. Do pay attention dear boy.. :rolls:

January 2014 should be still under 2 year warranty surely. You`d better check! Does the door lock with these lights flashing? Have you tried turning the machine off and waiting 4 hours and then turn it back on again and see what happens. Any buzzing/humming noises in the back ground especially from the rear left?

ParticipantRe: Bosch WAQ283S0 bearings shot after 1000 washes?
`Replacement? For the amount of washing (assuming it is purely domestic) I would look for a machine with a five year warranty, that way you know you will get at least five years from it. A good place to start is John Lewis.`
Or a Gorenje, 5 years parts and labour on a 249 quid machine model W6523C, 6kg load, 1200 rpm spin, which with a plastic tank is about as large and as fast as I would go, from Marks Electrical via their website on 31/08/2016.
I`ve had another Bosch bearing failure similar to yours at near 3 years too. What`s worse is I recommended buying the offending piece of Bosch`s finest creation which is even worse. Never again. Their d/washers are rubbish too.Had a Johnty Lewis fail on bearings, sealed tank jobby too at 4 years and 3 months old. At this rate you`d be better off buying, of all the things, a Hisense for 190 quid or a Curry`s Logik at 179 quid run it as long as possible and then scrap the thing if all else fails although I wouldn`t as parts for a Logik especially a Chinese made model ( made by Midea ) are very reasonably priced, like the machines themselves and there`s usually a technical workshop repair manual online via Curry`s Partmaster website site to help you out something only a Miele/Bosch owner can dream about. Some of these you can convert to hot and cold fill too if you know what your doing. Most Chinese stuff you can replace the drum bearings but whether this has changed within the last year I wouldn`t know. If you go and look up the lastest Logik modelse.g. L612WM16 and the go to Partmaster you should beable to find all the spares. If it shows 2 bearings and an oil seal or a backplate/rear 1/2 tank, well, then you can change `em/it if the latter you could always knock out the old zapped bearings and oil seal, buy some bearings for 4 quid a piece and the oil seal from a bearing factor and do it that way they`ll both be very common sizes such as 6205 and the larger 6206 more than likely, and oil seal will have the size printed on it somewhere. Drums come with a new spider for about 85 quid from memory should worse come to the worse.
I do not work or have any connection to Curry`s or to anyone else for that matter and long may it continue.1totalshambles

Only stumbled on Martins reply today-not paying much attention. Well Thanks Martin for for your reply I can always rely on a comment from Martin. Who would of thought the suspension is repairable by replacing the suspension should they wear out. All thx to me old mate Martin from sunny Tadley for that one.

So long as both valves are connected to the cold water supply it should make no odds on getting a higher temp than 60 degrees..

Went back there today as I refuse to give up. Don`t know what happened but I put the original p/swt and the damn machine now works and has done 4 complete washes with no trouble at all. Strange weird and annoying come to mind but fingers and legs crossed it might now be ok. Can`t surely be pcboard then must be the p/swt fooling about even the new one……Ahhhhhh my brain hurts. We`ll see how she goes!

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZWF14070W1
Hi Dave.
1) I know that that`s why I blew in to the suspected old p/swt. Actually my own personnal way of thinking is: what was once a part i.e. the mechanical pressure switch, that very rarely gave much grief has been transformed in to a troublesome piece of electronic tosh as only 21st Century can produce.
2) Yep programmer only thing really left, heater not to earth as that was also a thought back feeding in to the electronics but is isn`t.Oh well looks like another one for the recycler as she won`t wait or can`t wait for a QER repair. Another plastic tank cut in to pellets, the processing residue destined for unofficial ocean fish food, plastic sardines anyone?

ParticipantRe: Bosch WVT1260 steaming
Usually when your getting h2o to the condenser which is good and everything else works it`s a blockage at the bottom of the condenser unit in that short stubby hose at the bottom at the juction with the tank. I wouldn`t if I was you take this off unless you`ve really got to- bit of a bug*er to get back on. Best to disconnect the inlet hose and stick it down the condenser ( where you removed the fan motor ) and shoot some cold h2o through it-if the tank fills up you either had a blockage or it was a wild goose chase to begin with! If the condenser fills up there`s your blockage; only snag is the condenser is now filled with water so see if it will slowly drain itself if not you can syphon out the water from the condenser with a 5 ft of pipe into a bucket if need be otherwise your going to get moist! Power OFF if you attempt this please.

Aldi detergent ok but beware can froth up badly due to a higher {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of zeolite compared to others.

ParticipantRe: Indesit 1196W Omega 1100 Faulty Timer Control
Hi. From memory when I used to work for Indesit decades ago the timer`s detergent directional cam that is pushed on the timer`s shaft has 2 holes that if you click the timer round you can get the holes to line up with the screw heads that holds the timer on to the chassis….simple and even simpler if you put some blue tac on the end of your Philips screw driver!
Yes It does sound like your timer has jacked to me. Notice the way the timer terminals are staggered making it easy to miss wire even though the wires are labelled…..sometimes very badly printed which is why I rarely if ever wrote down where wires went and just told my customers to push off, don`t talk to me, leave me alone to concentrate and used to change the timers over in one go, wire for wire, though I can see why you`ve taken notes being your first attempt; can be a bit daunting I`ll agree.
The timers actual switch plates were held together by a riveted frame but you might beable to very very carefully prise each side switch bank out, though I might be getting confused with the crouzet made timer, sorry, such a long time ago, but here I would definitely mark which switch side plate goes where and which way up because it is possible to get them crossed over which will lead to total confusion and then to a total disaster. You probably won`t see much in anycase let alone repair your original timer as usually what happens is not the individual terminal switch ends that failed due to sparking but was the springyness of the actual metal switches themselves relative to the section of the timer internal cam each one corresponded to….the heater one being often the main culprit or just simply the timer motor coil failing on and off was not unknown too.
Best of luck with it, Remember: if you miss wire this due to the marking on the wires being naff you`ve probably had it as chance of a wiring diagram back then was zilch and now 20 something years on is even `zilchER`
The 1990`s Omega series I remember were very good machines overall with few problems and since its lasted to now that proves the point!…. -
