KeymasterRe: Can dishwashers be fed with hot water rather than cold?
I always understood calcium removes better in cooler water…try rinsing a glass thats had milk in it in hot and cold and see the difference.

KeymasterRe: Kenwood double oven CKB 300
After a strong letter to Kenwood, they sent an engineer to adjust the oven doors to almost perfect alignment. I agree with the above points made that you only get what you pay for. However, I have known lots of friends who have bought top of range products and still had problems. As I am retired and cook daily and clean my oven nearly every day: (I have the time), the enamel interior does not pose a problem. Also the grill is far better and faster than the grill on my old gas cooker (this model does have a cooling fan). Remains to be seen about the stainless steel finish! I am satisfied with the outcome and if it lasts 5+ years, I shall be more than happy.
A good result as far as I am concerned, bearing in mind the cost!

You’re a star, thanks for that. I’ll get on to them now.

KeymasterRe: Baumatic Spares
It’s rated at 10A which is same as the Campini part. Even though the oven has a 13A fuse?

KeymasterRe: Handle on AEG double oven
Thanks kwatt.
The installation should be fine, we had a ServiceForce rep in, via AEG, to fix a problem with the door on a D2100-4 that we had originally and he was happy with it. AEG then replaced it themselves with this model. The original oven also had this problem but we put it down to the badly fitting door.
Trading Standards did a temperature check this morning but as I said claimed, as it was within 60 degrees above, it was fine albeit agreeing that it was too hot for comfort. The reading was indeed 57 over ambient.
Would you happen to have a ref number for the BSI info so I can quote that at them?
I’m beginning to believe it’s a design or general manufacturing fault to happen on two different, albeit related, models. I think the non stainless versions have a plastic handle and would therefore be fine by the legislation.
Thanks again, Ian

KeymasterRe: Baumatic Spares
OK, the Campini Thermal cut-out wasn’t actually a replacement Campini part but an equivalent manufacturer, but still the same design and the right specs. I got a 150°C one, but they come in various temperatures.
I actually ended up getting the 5+off selector for only £13.76, (whirlpool use the same switch).
I’ve noticed a few posts asking about that damn Campini part, maybe there’s a market, what shall we say…. half Baumatic price?

KeymasterRe: white westinghouse
Hi
If i remember rightly this is a american side by side unit ??am I right .
If I am correct then it would I think originaly be made by GE.
Pull the appliance out and on the rear panel just above the cardboard panel there should be a Black envolope with a diagram and original model series on it.
If you send me details to r600a@hotmail.com I will be able to get the part for you fairly quickly.
hope this helps

KeymasterRe: LG codes ?
hi
the most common faults causing this are :
the pin that holdes the handle in place has slipped out causing the handle to go skiwiff a bit.
also the main PCB has a fault and this needs to be a new PCB fitted.
Tried the interlock, handle didnt cure the fault then replaced the PCB and it cured it.Had piles of them while working with LG.

KeymasterRe: LG Washing machine vibration
Hi,
We’ve used the kit many times to cure this problem. Its usually a success and seeing as what you’ve done to secure your floor its worth a try. If you are in the guarantee period, call 0870 156 5550, to call out your local LG repairer. We carry the kit as van stock, you should ask the local guy to fetch the “wooden” kit with him.

Thanks Dave I did as you suggested but only found 4 under KGU 3201 but none of them were the same as mine.
Any further suggestions would be gratefully receivedadmin
KeymasterRe: Bosch Dishwasher not draining
Wow – it worked.
Got a specialist tool set from Homebase, baled out the water with the help of my 3 and 1 year old sons (a bit messy), unscrewed it and found the culprit – a bit of string!
Then did a cycle and all the water drained happily away.
Thank you so much, this is a great resource.
Cheers,
