Re: how to bypass the door interock – blomberg 1301abb?

Unfortunately I live in the middle of nowhere, it’s 27 miles north of Aberdeen, no laundrette, no neighbor, and the washing machine has been out of action since the start fo the week !

I can make it electrically safe and lock the door to prevent the kids getting in, but I understand that I *really* need the real spare.
    Sigh.

    Any hints?

Many thanks to Martin and all respondents. I ordered the part as identified and managed to fit it.
The machine now works well and should hopefully give me a few more years of service.

Re: Bosch dishwasher type SNS 6342 – similar to Bosch SGS 53

    Hi Gregsy.
    Many thanks for the advice.
We’ve had 7 yrs out of the machine, so it’s probably best for us to get a new machine if the job is likely to be in the £100 region.
    Best regards, and thanks again.

    Re: Top Loading Dishwasher?

I used to have a Homark which I got from B&Q. Used it for about 5 years until both pumps went. Had it set into the worktop like a second sink.

Fantastic bit of kit – really sorry I threw it out instead of repairing it – have not seen one for years.

Re: Rosieres Bocuse – renovate or dump it?

    I might have tracked down a Bocuse-breaker . . .

If that doesn’t work, are there any brands of double oven known for keeping their long-term owners out of the cardiac unit? Any brands to avoid (other than C****)?

Thanks for your response – excellent site.

I looked at the cost of replacing the whole machine and suddenly the new motor looked like a bargain !

    Thanks for your advice.

    Re: Baumatic Spares

    Don’t worry, all sorted….

Got the Campini part for £1.62 (instead of Baumatic’s £20.02)
Got the selector switch for £16.80 (instead of Baumatic’s £46.27)

Feel happy now I’ve made that saving… but I wonder if Baumatic will refund the £30 for the wrong selector switch they sent me??

    Re: MFI APM6855 Fridge Problem

    Hi There Ian !

Purchased a similar preceding model (can’t remember the number) 3 years ago . Each year i had a problem with Ice build up.
The fridge freezer was under extended gurantee so the engineer told me that it was our kitchen design flaw (which i found hard to believe).
Recently the fridge completely packed in (ie: it was getting very warm in the fridge but the freezer was still working) .
I thought orginally it was an electrical board which needed replacing , however an MFI engineer found out that it was a leak in the back of the fridge (the leak is not harmful) .

Because I am under extended warranty the Fridge/freezer is going to be replaced I assume with your current model .

Apart from this problem have there been any others , as I might consider upgrading to a Bosch .

I hope this info is useful to you
    Best Regards

    Re: Bosch KGU3120GB Freezer Problem

Its not the fan, thats spinning OK.

I’ll check the full number at the weekend when I get round to pulling it out from the wall (the number I gave came from the invoice).

I’ll also turn off for 24 hours over the weekend and see if that sorts it.

Thanks for the suggestions to date.

    Brian.

    Re: Bosch Dishwasher not draining

    Martin,

Thanks. Now I know that we don’t have any Torx screwdrivers in our toolbox – I’m presuming Torx headed screws are those ones with a star shape that always make me cross when I’m trying to get into something that the manufacturers want to keep me out of.

Anyway, can I buy one at Homebase or the like? If so, do you have any idea what size? Don’t really want to splash out on a whole set but will do if necessary as I’m sure it will be cheaper than calling an engineer out.

    Thanks again,

Should have replied to this earlier…. !

Same problem, ordered the part from here and it fixed the problem. £12 against the £90 (+VAT !) quoted by the local call-out company… no competition really.

It took me about 15 minutes to replace the relay and another hour taking the bottom off the machine to recover the screws I dropped past the drum ! If you’re doing this, have a magnetic screwdriver handy….

I found it fiddly, not being an experienced repairer, and removing the crimped fittings from the relay required some force, some scraped knuckles and some patience, but a saving of £100 is worth an hour of my time.

    Thanks guys 🙂
