    Re: Diplomat Select 610

    Well not exactly…

Its the part that is attached to it…there are 2 metal holes that a small rod goes through…attached to the spring which holds the door ajar etc…the holes have stretched out and snapped so wont stay the on the small rod

Re: Heater element for a CDA washer/dryer

    Gentlemen,

Thank you both very much. As Dave said I’m looking for the washer heater element.

I’m new to this forum so can you please tell me how I proceed from here? I suppose I should ask how much first!

    Thanks,

    Nick.

Even if it shows continuity it may well be that the coils have shorted somewhere.

It sounds to me like it’s a new fan motor required to be honest.

    Dave.

    Thanks Dave

would this stop the rest of the machine working?

Re: Removing oven door – Indesit Oven FM1 IX

if you open the oven door down fully you should be able to see a clip on either hinge that will come up.( you may need to use a screwdriver to move it )as it lifts up fully on both sides it will lock the hinges when you then try to close the door.

as you close the door gently lift and move the bottom of the door away from the oven and it should come away freely, replacing will be the reverse of above.

    hope this helps

Re: help with diagnosis on a whirlpool washer dryer

    thanks Martin

having had a small bit of experience with wiring and also a kind colour co-ordianation sequence on the timer i am pretty sure it is correct.

the motor i am referring to (maybe incorrectly, it is an circular aluminum body with a small fan outside and a wide rubber hose into the back of the drum (approx 3 inches wide) ) is not the motor underneath the drum but mounted at the back of the machine at the top. The wires that came off are fixed a a small plastic cover mounted on it with live and neutral indicators on it, when you open the case a copper coil is inside and i have put a continuity tester across it and it is fine.

this is also the motor getting hot

    any more ideas?

the part number I thinkyou need is 481241818337 going by the drawing,go into shop online and it should be able to give you a cost.

bearing in mind if this dishwasher was purchased after 2002 you will have a 5yr parts warranty

    Re: Indesit dishwasher flashes OFF

I opened the front panel and made sure the switch on the door was still functioning – it closes when the catch flips as expected. so that all seems ok.

only other thing of note was that the ‘cycle selection switch’ (program selection knob) must be loose – if you jiggle it the display briefly flickers to show the time for option 1 as if theres a loose connection. not sure if i have ever seen this before now…

no obvious sign of any loose connection inside, unless i need a whole new switch (£8 wow).

    thanks,

Re: Faulty 8702 flooded our downstairs flat

Engineer arrived this morning – nice chap. We discussed the problem, and informed me that all manuals ‘advise’ turning off the water supply feeds after every use to guard against water pressure in excess of 10 bar pressure which will cause water to leak in past the inlet valve (and also to guard against any such claim arising, me thinks). Water pressure in my area is between 3.5 and 5 bar after talks with installers, (and dismissed a water pressure here of 10 bar as ridiculous)
The same washer downstairs did not suffer from the problem however this one upstairs did, both upstairs and downstairs, hence shows a valve problem as also the pressure upstairs will be less than downstairs.
I’m leaving the washer downstairs, connected now for a few days, unsued to see if the same problem with replaced inlet valves occurs. We shall observe…

    Re: Hotpoint Mistral Frost Free

Hi and thanks for the replies not touched the fridge following the original post. This was following a manual de-frost and the fridge is running fine although fairly soon it will frost up again.

    Answers to your advice/help below:

Bob – Evaporator fan runs and the door alignment/sealing is good. Forgot to mention the fridge compartment light, several days after replacing the parts mentioned above power to the light failed, thought the bulb had blown, new bulb didn’t work so tested the supply.

Jackfrost – I will test the thermal fuse, can you let me know what this looks like/where I can find this please. If this has in fact blown will a fault of caused this? Or can I just get hold of a new one and replace?

Funkyboogy – Good point, the first thing I checked was this and as you probably guessed it was full of dust and corruption, so I hoovered and made clean again. Could this of caused the problem we are having?

An update: The fridge is running fine at the moment just will not defrost.

Once again thanks to you all for your help

    Paul
