Re: Domestic & General Warranty on a Hotpoint

This is a problem of D&G and Hotpoints own making……

We as an independent were doing 70 calls per month for D&G on Hotpoint appliances, when Hotpoint demanded the work back from D&G and it was withdrawn from us immediately despite the good job we were doing. That did take 7 days work from me for 1 engineer, I have replaced that capacity with better work fortunately, but Hotpoint didn’t care about that too much, and now I’m expected to fall all over helping Hotpoint!

5 months ago D&G ask us to help out because there Hotpoint customers are getting poor service but tell us the work is temporary and not to stock for it as it will only last for 3 months. Well theres no sign of it leaving and I’m told it will now be withdrawn after xmas…….

I’m just being used by D&G and getting the flak for Hotpoint poor service to boot. There’s no way a Hotpoint D&G customer is getting my normal service level, my loyal customers get that.

What do we have to do to be given a fair crack of the whip?

    Hi Bob,

Just sent you an e-mail, but not sure it went through! I know this was a long time ago, but we are back on the subject of Teba Gunkol!

We recently bought a reconditioned TFB46GB51, but it came with no instruction, we haven’t a clue how it works and would like a hot meal sometime soon, can you help?

    Kind regards,

    Anna

Re: Creda Tumble Dryer 37748E – No Heat!

Very many thanks. I will look for a reply on Monday. If possible, I will also require a new filter (ours is a bit torn). You’d be amazed but almost no-one in Italy has a dryer and none of the appliance shops know what to do w/ them.

    Thanks again,

Re: Diplomat ADP8234 – Dishwasher not working, symbol on dis

    Hi,

have to agree with Dave here…..strange symbols on these boards are because they use the basic board across the range and its programmable. So a fault of strange symbols is usually the board going “bonk”

When your pots are dry…they should also be warm..the last 15mins of cycle is the drying bit..heated to 65 degrees and then left to drip dry. So if you have damp cold pots then perhaps no heat is relevant… the board should react with a no heat fault code…more evidence of the board not working correctly.

You really don’t have a DIY repair here, sorry. You also have to weigh up wether to repair or replace, you might have to spend to get an engineer to advise you further.
If you want to look in our directories and find a repairer using your post code please do…..

    Re: Necht Dishwasher

    hi,

I’ll try to get an email address for you……several of their customers report unable to get through on the phone. Will pm the email to you as don’t want to make it public.

Stopping mid way could be a combination of causes….bale out the water and check the sump for any foreign objects….at 14 months old Necht have no obligation to repair foc so consider having this looked at by a repairer from this site. Go to directories and see if theres a listing to match your postcode.

The door switch has not been a problem on these so I can not advise much…..however if a technician has looked and not solved what is a simple repair, it makes me think that perhaps theres a fascia problem here.

Re: bosch dishwasher SGS5312 – stuck on rinse mode

    Hi,

Just did a search and found this.

We have the same model of dishwasher and it’s just started doing a similar thing. The only thing is that even the quick wash doesn’t finish.

A couple of days ago it stuck on rinse for a couple of hours. It was reset but since then any trial programs just stay on wash. According to the manual, quick wash should take 30 minutes but after that time it was still on wash.

I have an extended warranty with John Lewis and the engineer is coming out in a week . I’ll post the outcome of the visit.

It does seem that it’s not heating the water though so hopefully it’s a simple fix.

any tips on double skinned at the back ovens would be most welcome 🙂
