KeymasterRe: If you are Corgi Registered…
Just something to think about here. 😯
If a company (CORGI) issues a certificate stating that a peice of equipment has been installed correctly and is safe to use without inspecting the equipment.
And then the customer has a fire due to a gas leak due to inadequate installation. Then would’nt that make that company (CORGI) fully liable in a court of law for all damages as they have issued legal documents stating that it is a correct nd safe installation. (even though they have never even seen the installation). 😕
If this is the case then what will happen when a customer installs the appliance themselves, will this situation then void the customers warranty as it could end up that the customer would have to show this certificate to the engineer to obtain repairs under warranty which in my opinion would be a good thing, how many times have you been out to a sub standardly installed appiance or unsafe appliance.:?
All installation handbooks state that the appliance MUST be fitted by a compident person.
In the eyes of the law only Corgi registered persons are compident. 😕
There is another point to make concerning Corgi making contact with your customer who you have just installed an appliance for.
Under the data protection act.
Will CORGI allowed to contact that customer direct as my understanding is that a third party company cannot use the information that another company has given them as they have no direct relationship or contract
with that person.I now this was long winded but I thought it was worth asking the questions.

KeymasterRe: DE6965 Parts
that will be good.
I am not sure its the parts fault its not cleaning very well. The dishes and cups seems to come out dirtier then before they went in. They seem to collect bits in them. Both arms seem to rotate freely. However sometimes the soap tablet has not disolved (serviceforce coming to replace the dispenser next week)
The small round filter mesh is very flimsy and is breaking. Also the metal plate as I have described should have a small white water sprayer, howver this has broken off.

KeymasterRe: Hotpoint WMA63 bearing
a little help on drifts
an engine valve stem is a handy tool for drifting out items where a small lip is available as on a stubourne outer case of a bearing.
also an engine push rod, if ground down to suit job (do not over heat)
but a good mechanic always uses a brass driftSeptember 10, 2004 at 2:12 pm in reply to: Whirlpool Dishwasher – ADG 722 WH, replacement heater? #115286admin

KeymasterRe: Diplomat ADP 8224 Error code E3, resetting thermostat? H
Thanks for your help fellas, it doesn’t have a reset button, thoroughly checked both sides of the heater and thermostat.
The fault wasn’t preceeded by an “E2” either, although when it stopped working it has melted some of the clips that hold the wheels on the lower basket. There was also a tea spoon that was loose on the floor of the washer. The machine is approximately 4 years old.
Am I better to try and find a replacement or get a repairer?
Who stocks Diplomat’s other than MFI?
You help is appreciated.
Matthew.

KeymasterRe: Diplomat ADP 8132 – anyone want mine?
hi,
Sorry to read your experience. However you should write a letter of dissatisfaction to the parties involved in supplying service to you. You may think “it’ll get thrown in the bin” but I assure you it won’t. We in this industry are trying to move our Service levels up and in response the better companies are increasing what they pay. This means they hold us more accountable and welcome complaint and praise with equality in order to appraise what they get for the money.
Write and help this industry improve itself, bring it to the attention of the Manufacturer that training just might make a difference…..just as your letter might

If I remember correctly this is a Smeg appliance. The heating elements do fail and early versions had a manual reset stat, this I think was replaced by an auto resetting one.
If you open the door and look at the element on the left of the cabinett floor…follow it back to a white ceramic disc which secures the top of the thermostat to the element. So you can work out that if you have a reset button it is located directly on the other side of the stat…from underneath the appliance. As Bonz says this is electrical and you should consider your own ability before you act.
Also consider why a reset stat has operated, usually because its over heated because of temp control failure but also (on a smeg) of water shortage. Has this fault been preceeded by E2?kevin
