Re: Indesit WE 16 – Error COde F-10

Thanks for the quick response, Martin.

I’ve done what u suggested, and there was nothing in the pump. Nothing looks out of place that I can see. I switched the machine back on again and for a moment it looked OK as it went back to the original screen with the programme time on, however, the error message came back again, and the washing machine now sounds as though it’s trying to empty itself, tho i’m sure the water is all out of it now. Any further suggestions?

    Many thanks

Re: DO YOU WANT TO MAKE A PROFIT

I’ve heard today of a business being offered work direct from a manufacturer( cant say in public, whom) but the going rate is £30.00 per call.

Sad that the guy is going to take the work, to keep his business ticking over…….

    Hard decisions…remember….

They do read this site so no doubt they won’t be asking me.

Thanks Woz, I’ll give that a go.
I really should have done this little job by now! The main deterrent is nothing to do with the wiring or soldering, that’s the nice bit… It’s cleaning all the parts of that accumulated grease and fat, which I feel obliged to do before replacing it, if only because of the fire hazard it must present. I have tried to get the good wife to do it, but she hasn’t shown much interest! 🙄 I’ll do it tomorrow!
    Cheers,
    Phil.

Re: hotpoint wma32 washer, drum lifters breaking

I have replaced the drum lifters on my Hotpoint WMA 63, three times in two years ie 3 sets. I contacted various suppliers of these spares and the general concensus was that they could not get enough of them as they were failing regularly. I contacted Hotpoint customer care with my concerns by e- mail, I am still waiting for a reply. I then phoned them and asked them if there was a problem with failure of these lifters, they denied that there was any problem, despite spares retailers telling a different story. To be honest Hotpoint did not want to know. When you look at the design and construction of these lifters you cannot fail to notice how flimsy they are, considering they are expected to agitate things like heavy wet denim, god knows how many times a cycle it is no surprise they fail. This must be a nice little earner for the manufacturer and the more cynical amongst us may even suspect they are designed to fail. The lifters used to be part of the drum moulding originally, why did they change this failure proof system. I intend that my next machine will be one of these eg Bosch

    Re: CDSL

    hiya bonz,

Every repairer in the UK can benefit from the likes of CDSL. But you have to offer what they currently need. I advised you re-contact them Bonz and put your own case forward.
What you see today will change….repairers are becoming very important to all service providers. Our numbers are dropping and the drop out of Gas repairs continues. Gas repairs are already being done by GAS companies which means they dont do the washers etc..
With an eye to the future you should keep trying 😉

    Re: Hotpoint Advertise Franchises!

3 months after advertising for franchises in the Sheffield Star and wanting people to be there own boss…(the first post back on page 1) Merloni are now advertising for employed engineers and offering experienced engineers salaries of £17,402 to £20,891 for electric and £19,108 to £21460 for gas. Hope no one took a franchise as this just pulls the work back to merloni….or perhaps they had no response.

Either way we all need to look after our engineers to make sure these outfits dont poach them. Work providers please note….£33.00 aint enough.

    hi Tony,

the power cards are not reliable on these and I would not put to much faith in a new card. CE is current error and the motor stator short circuit is the only listed cause other than board failure.

Email me a fax number and i’ll send you a copy of the error codes.

    Re: CDSL

    hi alex,

As you are aware the greater percentage of this work is “lux” and very good work it is too. The rest is made up of equally good work which I have no worries in saying I’m extremely pleased to be doing. The LG work is sound and technical issues are resolved easily and without fuss and are infrequent anyway. Payments are “on time” in full and at a level which you can work with.

CDSL have come up with a package that is by far the best in the market for the agent. I recommend you phone DP and have a chat, you won’t be dissapointed.

    kevin

PS as yet the calls are not pre-booked. Realistically it would be incredibly difficult for an operator in CDSL to book an efficient days work for an engineer considering they have no local knowledge and no idea of what van stock is carried. I suspect this could be the biggest reason for withdrawing from a contract.

Re: how does the water softener work on a dishwasher?

Just checked this product out at : http://www.fsltd.co.uk/scalewatcher.htm

and seeing that the prices go from £160 to £306 (online) it doesn’t seem too excessive compared to regular water softeners.

    …How deep are Dave’s pockets?

Re: how does the water softener work on a dishwasher?

I’ve been looking for a solution to this problem too ‘cos of our rock-solid London water. Has anyone got any experience of using “Scalewatcher” products?
From what I know it seems to work basically along the same lines as the Calblock by changing the molecular formula and so softens water and stops limescale forming. As it’s fitted to (in fact around!) the incoming water pipe it covers the whole house too!
I’ve been very tempted to get one but wanted to see what the opinion was of people who had actually tried it…

…fancy forking out in the name of science Dave?

I’ve looked for threads with the re-setting info but can’t find any!
Could you please enlighten me as to how this is done on the WE13?

    Thanks,
