Hi Laura,
I hope u have got the oven sorted by now, but my oven is exactly the same with the same fault.
Lat night we looked on t’internet and found that all Diplomat Ovens are made by Hygena.
The part we are looking for is a ‘Fan element’ this can be purchased from the website (Hygena for about £12.99)

There is no display at all and the machine does not fill up with water. I can only assume that we did need a new motor. The machine packed up a while ago (display was was working at the time) and we called an engineer who told us thaqt we needed a new motor. The engineer never returned to fit the motor so my husband adopted the DIY approach!

I had a 2.5 diesel and the MPG was only 24 on a good day. The HDI engine is better but the service back up from Citreon was terrible.
Actually spent more time off the road waiting for citreon to get spares than was worth it. Crap service and all round a crap van.
I had plenty of trouble with the suspensions leaking fluid and the gearbox / clutch. Would not buy another one.The TDCI engines from Ford are much improved and the Connect and the Transit i now run are spot on and both return well over 35 mpg. Reliable too.

We’ve got an instruction manual for a diplomat 8234, but there’s no explanation of what the error messages mean. So I’d stop looking for one if I were you. Sorry I can’t help more. I’m looking for a motherboard for ours (after only 6 months).

We have a lousy diplomat 8234 which was put in by some botch-it builders when we bought our house. It’s broken, so I’m online trying to buy a new mother board for it. I suggest you buy a new one unless you’re going to move soon.

trouble is there are one or two I won’t trust ever again, as I have learnt to my cost. If those that run Dasa want to remain a trade association then ok, let Dasa get on with it. Personally I will be directing my efforts into UKW and where we see UKW being in two years from now, I’ve no arguments with Dasa or any of its members, they can join both camps if they wish and have the best of both worlds. However lets not mince words boys…Scott spoke out of turn against UKW according to my info….so he can fuck right off and take the quisling with him..

Thanks guys. Just moved in to a new house lately, so I’ve no idea how old the oven actually is (though it doesn’t look particularly new)… Can you get bog-standard, generic knobs for ovens at all? Just want to investigate all the options before splashing the cash!
