KeymasterRe: Ariston Margherita 2000 – I also have a problem!
Julie Scot wrote:Can anybody help?
my Ariston Margherita 2000 washing machine has been playing up. Mid way through a program (it gets up to the rinse section – i think) it stops and the program selector dial continues to go round. Any ideas what the problem might be?
would appreciate any advice. The machine is 3 years old and has been used nearly everyday, until now… 😥
Had this problem with our machine and after messing around a lot the following procedure has been working out…
Turn the machine off – put the dial on the red spot – turn the machine on – wait for it to blink and reset – turn the machine off again and then chose your program and turn the machine on again…I had to follow this procedure twice the last half a year and both times it has solved my problem… looks like its a “alt ctrl del” of the Ariston 🙂

KeymasterRe: Advisory Council
hi kwatt,
fraid its a bit vague and you need to elaborate a little or at least invite anyone interested to speak directly to you, its going to be an important role and a little more clarity is needed.
Nowt wrong with your 3 though but others might be interested….tell ’em a little more!

At those dimensions the whirlpool glass wont fit, its too small.

KeymasterRe: Indesit Glass panel problems 🙁
I don’t hold much hope of sealing something grease free on the inside of an oven, so I’ve ordered the part!! 🙂
I’ve used the site’s help desk to order, hope this is correct.
BTW great site and forum.
Best regards,Gregg

KeymasterRe: Indesit Glass panel problems 🙁
Martin,
Thanks for your prompt reply 🙂A quick question…. does the part you’ve suggested include the metal frame and the ‘glued’ glass panel to it? Or is it the glass panel only? The problem I have is the glass panel not breaking but coming away from the metal ‘housing’.
Thanks again and best regards,

KeymasterRe: DASA!
tough this…
Ok jp WHAT is the point? What is there at the end of the road for the time and effort you want to put in?
Where do you see Dasa in 2 years time?Think in terms of a trade association as in alexs post about his other contacts actually providing member benefits.
We (you, me and mark) set of the night before social evening which has actually become more attractive than the council meeting itself. WHY?
Because of the willingness of like minded people to be friends and foster good relations with others in the trade ( and enjoy a good meal and extended opening hours too ).
Take a tip Dasa you have to involve the majority of the members to have a trade association, not the same reliable and likeable chaps who always turn up….you have to reach the majority who DONT.And thats where we go back to leadership and the quality of the person appointed
get it wrong and it all goes tits…..get it right and the guys got a mountain to climbSo whats this gonna cost……well not part time wages, thats for sure. You want to do it on the cheap and you’ll fail. Whoever the four interested parties are (and lets face it the shortlist is not hard to work out ) will not come part time and will be in the £40 k region before expenses etc….
So if as seems likely you all want to reduce the cost of being in Dasa then you have to think up ways of reaching all those are not members, adding them to the subscribers and therefore reduce the cost to all….its all downhill. You have not a cat in hells chance of attracting new members with the current set up, please raise your hand if you can remember your password to get into the dasa web site!
Communication wont solve this, the regulars already converse , but only amongst themselves. My apologies to Mark Scogs who thought i was having a pop at him, not at all. Mark has been a good chairman and a personnel friend too, but even he has to admit he has now not the time to do the position justice….so sorry mark, I could have worded it better.

KeymasterWith regards to leadership Dasa has had approaches form 4 respected people within the industry to take over the helm and this info has to remain confidential at present
The position can not be filled until it is determined exactly what is required of the position, as you are all aware we have been kept in the dark for so long.
Kevin’s synopsis may possibly come true, if it does so be it, but for one I am trying my best to help restore Dasa as an organisation to be proud to be long.
I only have so much time and limited resources but I am willing to try. Support and help is needed from the membership without which whats the point of me or my friends and colleges continuing ?

KeymasterRe: Creda washing machine burning out motors
Hi,
I have now relaced the drain pipe from the pump to the connection for the Washing machine drain in the sink trap under the kitchen sink.It was some what restricted the old drain pipe with soap scum and matted fibers, I also checked the washing machine filter in the trap before the pump, this was clear, not that it looked like much of a filter,as it’s only a white plastic cup type vessel, with various 1/4 inch (in old money) holes in.
I have put in yet another replacment works re con motor, and alls well at the moment, I have alson instructed my good lady to wait at least 30 minutes before stating another wash in the machine.
As Sparkp calls up the motor brush holders are nylon, and are the source of the problem, but the in the past the motors have lasted at least a year or more, and the problem then was that the brushes are worn out.
So this is a new to me problem, and as you folks have said that the motor load is crittical, ,so for longer life reduce this as much as possible.
Pity they do not fit a motor thats well over rated for the job, instead of a just about cope type.
Thank you all for your help, and a great forum.

KeymasterRe: HEAT DEFLECTORS
When fitting a built in oven to a housing that has vinyl or plastic covered doors it is advisable to fit heat deflectors as the vinyl or plastic coated doors do have a habit of peeling when placed in close proximity to heat,we advise that a minimun of 20mm gap between oven and said doors.
hope this helpsbryan

KeymasterRe: DASA!
I’ve been following this thread with interest and although at the moment outside of Dasa membership, it does not mean that i’ve washed my hands of Dasa.
Whilst some are pissed off and others are supportive the whole concept of Dasa is long ago lost in the bye gone days.
What was the only force in this trade has, gone. Dasa today is nothing(in terms of a trade association) as its incapable of changing a single piece of legislation either now or in the future. It is not up to speed on the change within the industry, has no teeth, has little in the way of leadership( and i include the present chairman in that ) has little prospect of being taken seriously come October when the present chairman steps down. Its all down at the moment and without serious guidance, a stratagy for increasing membership, professional leadership, expert backing of knowledegable council members who can commit time and effort to supporting the leader, its going to stay in the down position. Individually those Dasa members of this forum are up to speed and you assert your knowledge, time and experience into your own businesses…and quite rightly so.
However none of you are in a position to do it for Dasa…….and the rallying cry for one more big effort is great,,,but too late.
Fundamentals….
1) Unless you get professional leadership Dasa is lost.
2) if you are not prepared to fund that help by paying an increase in your subscription, Dasa is lost.
3) With no ideas on how to improve your street cred, Dasa is lost.Sorry guys, if you can come up with a plan to put Dasa back on the right track without inward investment and taking on a full time leader, I for one will applaude you all and sing your praises. In reality you will be in this position in 3 months time, in 6 months time and in 12 months time but with fewer and fewer members and once your finance dissapears…Dasa is lost

KeymasterRe: Philco DW1906
Just in case I’ve started looking to see what might be a good replacement machine.
Reading through the “What would you recommend?” topic elsewhere in the forums it would seem that the recommendation is to keep hold of anything pre-1998!
So in answer to Penguin45’s question “Do you really want to keep this machine?” perhaps I should since it is now 12 years old!
Should I keep fixing it or replace it?
Can’t afford a Miele!
Or do I just come back to this forum for psychic healing when required?admin
KeymasterRe: Philco DW1906
Well this forum clearly has powers beyond its ken!
Since being threatened with the “last rights” by Martin and Alex my poor old machine has started working properly again. (Can’t find the emoticon for “touch wood” or “fingers crossed”).
Thank you all for all your help.

KeymasterRe: Part wanted for NEFF B-AP22-7
I have the NEFF part number – it’s :
“154746”
ENR B1420B0GB/05
FD 7710
Model B-AP22-7I have contact Neff direct and the part is about £0.89p – problem is they want about £3.50 to post it to me…….? Derrr…
Can anyone else order this on my behalf as part of a bigger order and I can then pay them and they post it to me for the price of a first class stamp???
If I have to pay £4.50 for it, i’ll do without.
Thanks
David
