    Re: Blomberg 1501AAA not spinning

    Yup

took off the bottle and cleaned thoroughly, didnt remove the grommet but gently wriggled a screwdriver around and managed to get a fair amount of slimey gunk out.

First test the spin worked, on doing a full wash it didnt spin again
Then today its worked perfectly for three loads

Really appreciate all the help – I know what to do now in future too

    Regards

    Re: Blomberg 1501AAA not spinning

Tried this tonight although I may not have been forceful enough with the grommet

It seemed to come to an end instead of just going straight through – i didnt want to ram a screwdriver in too hard though incase I broke anything before checking here

Is this likely to be the blockage thats causing the problem, or is it designed that way and I’ll break something by forceing a screwdriver through?

thanks for all the help 🙂

    Re: advertising

    hi,
as a home based repairer assuming your on your own, its a difficult step to move away from free estimates, have you?

Also as a single repairer do you need 40 jobs a week? If so why? So are you already falling into the trap many of us have before you, that is over advertising. As a home based repairer you can earn a good living with 20 well paid jobs a week, delivering super service and slowly building a reputation for speed of service and quality work.
The truth is we all strive for more work and it takes a few knocks before we learn……

My advice, grow slowly and don’t spend the hard earned on advertising too much, read contracts and get advice before you sign them, all that glitters etc etc
And if your stuck, there’s plenty of help in these pages all you have to do is ask…

the Ion Exchanger has thrown in the towel

Oh no! 😯 That wasn’t the other thought I wanted to hear! 🙄

Any other nice thoughts anyone? 😕

How bad’s a faulty valve? (Is there an emoticon for “clutching at straws”?)

And I’ve noticed that it leaves this salty film after running just a “rinses” without any powder/tablet or whatever.

But if I just do the “soak” then everything is clean – but cold!

    Re: Philco DW1906

Maybe, but we’ve been using them for months without a problem.
Could they suddenly start having an effect after all that time?

We’d quite willingly go back to the powder if we could fix the rinse aid dispenser. I don’t suppose you can get the right one can you? You managed the basket wheels. On the other hand if it’s expensive then it might not be worth it if the salty film is an indication of some other terminal illness!

I wonder if anyone else has any thoughts?

OK, I found brand new board, but without EEPROM.
I put the EEPROM from my board and … the situation is the same.
Can I decide, the program in the EEPROM is corrupted?
Can I buy EEPROM (93c46) with pleloaded program, or where I can find the program, I’ll write it in the chip.

    Re: Save my mum’s cakes!

    hi

the appliance you have got is a arrow oven made for B&Q by TEBA.
the oven should be a simple oven to operate.hopefully the following will help.

on the right hand know it should have the following symbols.

    light = light bulb only
    fan blade = defrost
circle with a fan blade = fan assisted oven
lower line = lower oven element only(normally plate warmer)
    squiggly line = grill element
higher straight line upper oven element

you will also have a knob with settings of 50 – 250 which is your thermostat.
there may also be another knob dependant on model that is a timer which has a M setting, the M is the best on to use as it wil keep the oven operating until you turn it off.

if you need further help yu can give me a call on 07961365484 and i’ll try to talk you through it.

Re: Whirlpool ADP903 Dishwasher Flashing light

    hi,

with power on push and hold start button for 5 seconds, release and see if the electronics resets.

If not with power on push and hold start button for 3 seconds and select no 1 on the programme selector, release the start switch.
This puts your appliance into a test mode where any failure will be diplayed by a sequence of lit LEDs please take note of the lit ones, if you come back here with a fault sequence.

There is equipment available to a small minority of repairers who may be able to reset the eeprom on your PCB, but the cost to my knowledge is currently £72.50 for the call out.
