Re: When appliances quit, most of us don’t call a repairman

its a great read that article and I would like to point out the guy who quotes appliances generally lasting 12years…..

Put your hands up all of you who expect £170 washers to last more then 2 minutes..

Which is twice as long as s£${e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}^& do 😈

Got on to it this saturday – stripped it down, drained the side panel, checked connections, 3 hours later, running like new.

    Re: The Engineer’s Opinion

just a few ideas to stimulate the forum>>>>>

    1) manouverability…the weight ,has it wheels, can 1 man deliver it etc

    2) vunrability…how sharp are those internal edges that rip your hands to shreds?

    3) base finish and legs…how easily some feet rip cushion floor.

    4) cabinet build…the quality and finish of the cabinet, door, lid and plastics that go into the fascia etc.

    5) the quality of
    a) the motor/circ pump.
    b) the timer/pcb
    c) the control module/pcb.
    d) the drain pump.
    e) the heater/element.

    6) 3rd party failure..how easily a sock etc escapes the tub and causes that drain blockage, or in the case of Zanussi a tub front change?

    7) customers satisfaction…ask the customer to score the appliance from 1 to 10 as she is the one living with it.

    8) cabinet deteriation..ie rust, yellowing ect

    enough from me

    regards

With refurbs, what sort of guarantee do you give with the repair compared to using a new component and what type of guarantee do these companies give to the trade. Also does this guarantee follow with over the counter sales ?

    Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 ( AWD 10 UK ) Problem – please h

my machine is a margherita AC 128L…..

i did’nt try what the pinguin said yet, because i’m a “left handed” (as we say in france… it means that i’m not a tools-guy..)…:?

my mom told me to empty the filter and i can’t figure out a way to do it..

    if you have a clue….

    long live to ukwhitegoods!! šŸ˜›

    Pierre

(too bad we don’t have forums like that in france…)

    P.S. sorry for the grammaticals mistakes… šŸ™‚

    Dave,

I think I’m snookered – I can’t move the unit as it’s not mine to move (rented) so I think that’s the end of it. I could take a digital photo of it if you think that would help ?

    Cheers

Re: what does this button do??

I know that, but how? Does it “Miss out” part of the main wash, shorten the rinses, shorten the spins or what??
