    Am I correct in thinking you now need a licence to recondition appliances, but not to repair for a customer as (as specialist 01269 say’s) ?

    In my experience customers can be way out with the age of their appliances :rolls:

    I have a slightly similar job ongoing at the moment. Customer say’s her 18mth old neff grill element isn’t giving enough heat output and not glowing red.
    I’ve only had to change elements that where open circuit or tripping due to low insulation in the past, this is a new one on me 💡

    Good to know Silverbroom 😉 I’ve heard stories that they can suffer with gearbox problems, mind transits can have their faults also. The flywheels are reported to be the biggest concern on tranny’s I’m told.

    Did you buy the nissan Seamy ? I need to replace my transit and I’m torn between another tranny or a renault traffic/vauxhall vivaro/nissan primastar.

    Had a candy with edge connectors off the module after a house move a while back. Might be worth a check ?
