Re: Selling Used & Secondhand Gas Cookers ?

As far as the Trading Standards are concerned it is not a problem. The seller must supply a guarantee and an instruction note to say that the appliance must be fitted by a Gas Safe Engineer. The seler can also instruct that the warranty will become void unless they can show a Gas Safe Instalation Certificate to state that the appliance has been fitted and tested by a Gas Safe Engineer.

Hotpoint are still a good brand … but only if you get a refurbished 95 seies, WM/WD or WMA one from a reputable engineer, recycling company, secondhand dealer.

    Re: 0800 Repair

I don’t mean to inflame an already combustible subject but I agree, the disclaimers shown above make a farce of what any association is all about… Associations like WTA, Retra, DASA aore there not just for the engineer members of such, but also for the public and commercial sectors that they purport to protect… Adverisers use of such farcical information set out to the public should be brought the bear by the associations that they belong to and by the ATA.

Makes no warranty that it will not infringe on the rights of third parties…

      Rather obtuse —————————————————–

We make no guarantee of any specific results from the use of our service …

      but

our workmanship is backed by a no quibble guarantee

      and

“We call out to your home on a day that suits you and undertake the repair in a professional manner and to your satisfaction”

      —————————————————–

No part of this website is intended to constitute advice …

So 0800 are not saying come to us and we will arange someone to repair your product
      —————————————————–

This Website sould not be relied upon when making any desisions ..

So i’m looking for a CRB checked engineer and although 0800 say all engineers are CRB checked I shouldn’t rely on what 0800 say

our workmanship is backed by a no quibble guarantee

and this too should be ignorred then?

If all else fails, you could buy a condensing unit to fit to the end of your vented dryer… They look unsightly but it would solve the problem I reckon.

Make sure that when you speak to the insurance you ask them what the length of guarantee is on the work that they do and also on the new parts that they have fitted.

Re: AWCT10L – Not doing full spin

If you have the time to trial/error I would suggest: order both, put in the new pcb first and see how it gets on… then if still faulty replace the motor and put back the old PCB…

But I’d bet my bottom dollar that the problem I had lay with the PCB even though it was a fresh one.

Re: AWCT10L – Not doing full spin

Just been to do exactly the same on the same model… it is either the pcb or the motor… I changed the PCB and the machine was then working but gave the fault that you are getting (intermittant no full spin), with the machine I did, the problem seemed to occur every 2 or 3 washes… It would work perfectly otherwise.. This is why my thought are with a faulty PCB… but I opted to change both the motor and the PCB on this one as the motor was noisy anyway.

    Re: Not Covered By Warranty

What if we get called out to a dead machine under warrantee… Change PCB & Door interlock .. on checking machine the machine then runs but has a blockage ….

Who is responsible for the blockage in that instance?
