Re: Indesit WIDL126suk open circuit heater

The only thing I can say here is that some time ago I had the exact same model with a broken thermistor wire and it coused the machine to throw out an error code .. it was traced to one of the two little blue wires going to the thermistor.

I would also check that your thermister is working.

Generally oxidisation causing warming of the plugs when charged expands the connections as far as I can see.

    in short… rubbish electrics

IIRC the thermister has a timeout fault code and I would imaging that the heater not working would activate this… Also, check for damaged wires near the counterweight.. possibly earthing against the casing.

Clicking from the circuit board could be a failure of the drive capacitor that powers the relays for heater & motor

This was discussed previously and IIRC the loan of a temp machine is prevented by insurance/liability issues if the machine is used, but then economic issues if a brand new machine is used.

Re: Kwatt getting an ear full

A sad fact is that there is sometimes no passifying this type of person without remuneration of the gift form (cash, swap-out, repair+extra guarantee)as they normally have a goal. As I have previously stated, it seems like the goal of this person is to attempt to get his whole machine renewed or replaced before the guarantee runs out, in effect rendering his 5 yr machine a 10 year machine.

Unfortunately, when a customer is acting like this one is, you can not point the finger else you end up deep to your neck in the myre, unless you have good reason of course, and that has to come from a real good inspection of the machine…

I come across this scenario on a regular basis whilst inspecting machines on behalf of the local authority or their contractors. Not that it is the case all the time, sometimes it is as little as 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} or 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time, but other times it can get to as much as 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time. This is what has made me such a synic in damage repair or compensation claim circumstances. Regularly I will come across tampered parts, loosened screws with driver marks on them yet the screw is still tight in its socket, beared cables in places where there is nothing to bear the cable on, even down to damage reported during construction yet the scrapes are from a screwdriver or other implement, even dents in a machine but on close inspection there are bootmarks or other evidence of impact by blunt object that removes paint inside the dent.

Some people will always try whatever to get something for free, that is the nature of the beast. I am not saying that this is the case here, but it certainly seems to be running the same course.

The only thing I advise in suspicious circumstances, or when there is two or more call-outs within a period that would not normally be expected, is that 5 or 10 minutes to record the condition of the machine and inspect for any tampering or unwarranted damage and reporting such findings to your commissionaire could be a serious benefit to them.

Re: Kwatt getting an ear full

5 days for an engineer appointment is quite quick … Tell him to try book Hotpoint to come out.. 8 days for one of my customers.

I would consider delivery of a parts is quite quick considering 11 days from Hotpoint, 93 days from Bosch, 12 days from Espares… I could go on, and on… and on.

Seems like this guy is trying to get his whole machine renewed before the guarantee runs out.

I know I’m a synic before anyone tells me… but with differing faults, one after another, I would be inspecting the machine to look for tampering evidence.

This is all to access the retaining screw for the element bracket… Does anyone have any shortcut tips for this, or a service manual?

Had a similar probem on a Hotpoint recently and the flashing PREWASH was dueto a faulty pressure switch Jim.

    Re: Beko WM5100W – error – constant pump/drum rotation

I replaced a module in a WM5100 a few weeks back for very near the same problem… The machine wouldn’t ramp up into full spin .. On the spin program it would do exactly as you’ve described would not reset, it constantly ran the pump and tumbled the drum.

A change of the module sorted the problem.
