    Re: Bosch SMS63E09GB/04 dishwasher.

    I disconnected the heater and motor plugs and the earth tag on the motor was well under 1 meg to body earth. Now considering the earth wire for the motor is the end tag in the heater plug, it shows no leak to the stator coil of the motor. The heater likewise has no earth fault. But with all the wiring disconnected from the motor heater unit and no sign of any other metal connection, my insulation meter shows a fail from the earth tag to the body only. Weird….or is it conducting through the water left in the motor heater? I can’t find anything obviously leaking water into the base, so can these motor units leak?

    Hope that helps!!

    Cheers,

    Steve.

    Door switch or selector switch are favourites to check. Thermal overload would cut out if the body temperature was too high; but that would require the element and fan to work in the first place…..

    Usually it’s the ‘O’ rings that fail. Can be fixed by changing them or alternatively using extra smaller thickness ‘O’ rings to take up the slack. Add them to the airbox pipes before refitting the originals; trial and error until the airbox is a tight fit and the latch holds it down with no slack at all. If it still leaks then the venturi inside the airbox is furred up with scale – virtually impossible to clear.

    Worth a try first!!

    This a Beko dishwasher in disguise. Usually the main wash motor seals leak or the flowmeter can be faulty. Flowmeter is 5045176204055 – £3.50 + VAT at Connect stock.

    So using that “ruling” then, I can get my 4 year old Mercedes van sorted for nowt eh?……8O
    It has had an erratic fuel gauge from new. I reported it within the first week and they had many goes and were not able to fix it. Mercedes conceded they knew of a few vans affected and I am on their quote “goodwill list” in the event of them finding a solution to the problem. The 3 year warranty expired and I’ve heard nothing – surprise!!
    So, if this is true, I can with confidence waltz back into the service centre and demand a repair? If what that article says is correct, then I’m absolutely within my rights to do so.
    It may be a little off topic; but actually it’s bang on topic……test case? :protest:

    Wish me luck and don’t hold your breath…..

    The little PCB at the back corner is the heater relay board. I found a duff relay and swapped it out. All OK after that. Make sure you have checked the element and cut out first though.

    Thanks for the replies. In another post this dishwasher is said to be a Fagor but the price of the PCB (£274) is enough to not get involved.

    Cheers!

    Tried all that and was just waiting for the sound of cracking plastic. There are two tabs at the back each side of the filter cover but these seem to do nothing to release the top cover.
    Still foxed…………

    Thanks for the reply but it is the filter fitted on top of the motor; remove the bin and it is under there.

    Re: Bosch Dishwasher Table Top

    Take out the filter and look in the sump. There is a hole to the right that comes from the water metering system. Carefully rod out the pipe with a zip tie and then with a bottle brush (be careful not to push the blockage back up the pipe). Start the dishwasher up and the first few seconds of filling should push the muck out.
    Failing that it’s body off, airbox off, metering system (round black chamber at the back right corner) off and the other end of the clear plastic hose from the sump is fitted there. Not difficult but fiddly and time consuming.

    Hope that helps!

    To get the pulley bolt loose –
    Lock the pulley with a length of wood;
    Put a small cut with a cold chisel in the edge of the bolt head;
    Then angle the chisel and hammer the bolt round. They are very tight and will need a few smacks to move. Then you can undo it easily with a torx 40.
