ParticipantRe: ISE 10 leak from soap drawer
Had two do this: both customers put a full scoop of powder in the front compartment – virtually instant overflow. Lowered the fill pressure on both and problem sorted. If left, it can cause the powder coating to peel back like pickling paint inside the front panel; have experience of that happening too. Not bad enough to be noticed by the customer ATM, but would probably have needed a new front panel if it had been left unchecked.

Had one of these with reoccurring E25 – drained every time I tried it!! So I thought; can’t be pump. Then removed pump and rotor jams if pulled slightly forwards…….
Keeping them stocked now and have fitted a few with no call backs! 8)
All in all a crap machine TBH….. 😥HTH,

ParticipantRe: Hoover HNF7148 Blown Board?
Small condensation leak from tub runs round and drips DIRECTLY on the pump coil – fantastic design. Firstly, change PCB. Then before using it, change pump and cover with a plastic shield. It was mooted a while back that the Gias engineers used to put a line of silicone on the side of the tub to draw the water away to the back of the machine to stop recurrence.
It will have blown triac No 5 on the board and if you are lucky you may be able to salvage a triac off the old PCB and swap it out. If unlucky….new PCB.HTH,
Steve.
P.S. This should be posted in Tech Enquiries – keeps it all neat and easier to find in future. 😉

ParticipantRe: Mike Dangerfield…anyone I should know?
I thought I smelt something sinister…….and thanks for the warning. I have not replied as I am fully booked every week 3 days ahead solely from my own phone and don’t really need any more work – especially from the likes of British Gas. Why don’t they start doing what their name says and getting that right first before trying to spread into other trades. And if they didn’t advertise as much, my bl00dy bills might start coming down as well. 😈

5031681420417 from Connect at £6 ish + VAT. “Zanussi fan starter” as a search will show it as only result. N/O starts at about 60, keeps fan on until cabinet has cooled.
Hope that helps,

ParticipantRe: Bosch semi integrated dishwasher timer no ENR
Very rarely fail……usually fill meter tank blockages, microswitch or door wires broken. EMW used to fix these though; try Tony on (01159) 652118.

ParticipantRe: Candy GO482 doing odd things
Look for a shorting heater – this can completely mess up the programming on these machines and their Hoover stablemates.

ParticipantRe: diplomat apm8522 thermostat
Take the thermostat out and look carefully at the tags. The plastic edge that surrounds them has number markings on it; either numbers or ‘pips’ on the plastic edge. 1 pip, 2 pips and so on…..not obvious, but they are there. The wires have numbers on them, so it should be straightforward.
If the machine is not spinning, check the heater for an earth problem – common cause of no spin on these Servis / Antonio Merloni offerings.HTH,
Steve.

ParticipantRe: Stoves D/Oven 720ef 059040415
I fitted 2 of these a little while ago to a Diplomat (Stoves clone) double oven. Turns out both ovens used the same ‘stat.
More than likely to be the same part.HTH,

ParticipantRe: Bosch SMS63E09GB/04 dishwasher.
Thanks for the reply. I reconnected the motor and it all seemed to work. The strange thing is that the machine seems to work OK and to add insult to injury, there was no sign of any water leak from the components at all. The original fault was “water in the base / float switch activated” fault. When I first visited and tested it, the flowmeter filled correctly; motor ran; heater ran; basically it all worked fine. There had been water in the base tray and there were still places in the tray that were wet. The earth fault started as a side issue but doing some research I found references to earth problems causing havoc with the PCB – especially overfilling – hence looking at all possibilities.
I think I’m going to pull it in the workshop for observation as I am so overwhelmed with work ATM that it is either that or I turn it away.
Would really like to fix it just to find out…… 😈Cheers
