JJ is right – 4 flashes is OWI failure (that’s the black grid on the right of sump cavity). The fault occurs when the machine has drained and the OWI (being full of crud) tells the PCB the machine sump is still full. The machine continues to drain until the PCB “times out” the drain cycle – 4 flashes = no drain in the time allowed. Thoroughly clean the OWI with a toothbrush; I always remove them to clean as some of the hard fat can move and the problem can reoccur. 😉

DST1100991585 is the part number for the main switch. £11.97 + VAT from Qualtex and £14.81 + VAT from Connect both out of stock special order parts. Both sites have no photo. I would be tempted to see if it matches the usual Zanussi 6 tag on / off switch first.

Re: Bearings for Hoover HNF 3156

Actually, I have had one of these with the super large bearings in it …..strange how Gias don’t know what they fit to their own machines. :rolls: I just fitted a standard 6208 bearing and matching seal and that was easily 3 years ago. I know the machine is still going as I see the lady’s Indesit drier and dishwasher quite regularly. Needs some detective work but it can be done.
    Best of luck!!

Re: Bearings for Hoover HNF 3156

The bearings should be off the shelf items or try Simply Bearings at the top of the spare parts forum. The size and spec of the seal is moulded on its front surface – clean it thoroughly and quote this number to the bearing supplier. These seals are ordinary oil seals and should be easy to get.
Hoover show two replacement tub units for these machines; but no details on the bearings fitted to these later items – so I have to assume the bearings and seal were enlarged. It may be that yours is a later type………..possibly… :rolls:

You have to drill out the moulded pivot pin on the tub mount with a 12mm drill (IIRC!) and fit the bolts provided.

Or……you could just fit Hotpoint WMA dampers as they are the same size and shape. Use the bolt mount at the bottom and the nylon pins at the top. A friend of mine did it on a recon Bosch and it all worked fine.

Yep, heater will cause all sorts of random faults on these. Swap it out and it should be OK.

Re: Bearings for Hoover HNF 3156

You’ll have to remove the bearings and see – those part numbers were actually from Gias’ own site; that’s what Hoover say this machine is fitted with. Shouldn’t suprise us though…..:rolls:

5031681665542 is the concrete weight tapping plate that fits in the slot in the top of the tub. They always fall out when you lift and tilt the drum unit.

Even Dorset Fire Service have made a video relating to the Bosch dishwasher situation…………….see their youtube channel Dorsetfire.

Proves that nigh on bugger all interesting happens in Dorset….. :rolls:

Re: Bearings for Hoover HNF 3156

    Front seal – 91406202 (30-52 11/12.5)
    Front bearing – 09170838 (most likely 6205Z)
Rear bearing – shown as 09170838 or 24152043. Connect show the last number as a complete tub assembly; Qualtex as a separate bearing. (Most likely 6204Z)

Or you could fit a Zanussi small shaft bearing kit (brg94207) and be done with it…… 😉

Thanks Mike – nice to know exactly what it looks like!! These are commonly fitted on 100bit Indesit boards IIRC.

Thanks for that – does the capacitor top “dome” like they do on the Hotpoint boards? Is the location of the capacitor really obvious?

    Cheers,

Re: Bearings for Hoover HNF 3156

Connect doesn’t recognise Hoover HNF3156 – have you got the product number; starts 31…..
Usually you will find the bearing seal will have a spec on it and the outer size matches the bearing behind it. The rear bearing is usually the next size down.

Door interlock; catch, wiring, main PCB – in that order………….. 🙁

Re: I hate smeg dw: episode #274

Smeg = always check for split mains supply suppressor or damage to dispenser coil – both cause electrical “noise” and interfere with the PCB. Extra demand ie:- when heater or motor are switched in will exacerbate the problem leading to all sorts of spurious faults.
    Good luck……… 😕
