You need to count how many times it flashes before it pauses and repeats

Yep, that’s right. They are similar to the Hoover new wave range.

Hi Jim, are you sure it’s a washer dryer door seal.

This washer has a seal fed by a plastic funnel type thing from the drawer to the seal the same shape as a washer dryer air inlet.

The cut out should be easily tested by a meter on ohms as it should be a short cct

However make sure you are not mixing it up with the cut out that controls the cooling fan as this will be open cct until it heats up.

There is no need to be measuring voltages or doing any other live testing as this is dangerous.

Well I’ll be damned! Electrolux do describe it as “thermostat set, stirrup”.

Must be something to do with it being translated from Chinese into English by some Polish guy.

Sounds more like the contacts on the selector switch have fried.

I have no idea what a stirrup thermostat is, unless it’s to stop the stirrup getting too hot and burning the horse 🙂

It’s probably the sensor and I believe it is foamed in and cannot be replaced

Sounds like the pressure pipe may be blocked. That is the thin pipe running from the lower part of the drum up to a switch mounted near the top.

1257530434 should be the part number for the heater

The fan will be fed direct from the selector switch. The element through the thermostat.

Take the belt off and turn the drum and see if the ticking is still there

Check the filter and that nothing is fouling the pump. Turn the drum by hand and see if you can hear the ticking noise.
