    Re: Maytag

    Hi All,
i have just invested in Maytag special tools for the top loading machine and curently in talks with them regarding a contract, i have being working with them since the split with independent service, they were a pain in the backside until they started the northen technical guy and after a meeting today he has reasured me things will get better (heard that one before ). 😉
but the rates are not bad, tech info is now available and tech bulls are to be dispached shortly. will let you know abt the new contract if it was like the last one it went in the bin.
parts still have to be bought and claimed back, training is free.

    Cheers Bob.

    Hi Simon,
if you turned the thermostat to the off position and the compressor did not stop it is most certaily the module.
has the dail knob been fitted the right way round ?.
further advice can be given by telephone if you require it just send me a PM with your number.

Re: Candy CPCA291FFK fridge freezing milk

    Hi Simon,
first thing to check is the module,
Test Mode- Switch off appliance at the mains, turn thermostat dial fully clockwise to the (super) position, repower the appliance the green light will illuminate, within 7 seconds turn the thermostat to the off position, the yellow light should also illuminate, within 7 seconds turn the dail to position 2, the test starts.
1- fridge sensor check, if ok both leds out for 7 seconds if faulty leds flash for 7 seconds.
2-defrost heater on for 7 secs.
3-electrics off, all power off including interior light 7 secs.
    4-return to normal operation.
If this proves to be ok carefully check the temp on the fridge cold wall as this may be a system fault.
please let me know the outcome.
do you have a tel/fax number please PM it as there is further tests.

    Cheers Bob.

    Hi
new module will start the compressor for about 2 seconds on switch on,
it then depends on the temp of the evaporator as to what it does next,
freezing evaporator it starts a defost period heaters on for appox 30 mins before normal operation starts, stick the new/recon module back in and have h long cup of coffee with the customer. 🙂

    Simon
the easy way to check if the module is at fault is to turn the control knob to the of position, if the compressor still runs it the module, if not its the system or the sensor, by the way this module does have a test built in to it.

    Re: Hotpoint Mistral Frost Free

    Hi Paul,
Does the evaporator fan run at all, if not before you go any further and start replacing parts just check that the door is closing correctly and aligned straight with the top facia and that the fridge compartment light goes out.

i think the carbon brush runs on an insulated ring on the outside of the drum assembly, this ring is connected to the drum paddles top ridge. if i remember correctly will have a look at the manual but i think it is only exploded diagram and a parts listing.

Hi laurance if i remeber that appliance senses when the clothes are dry by measuring the resitance between the drum and the drum paddles, the more humidtiy the lower the resistance, dry clothes or no clothes in the drum and the appliance will stop after about 10 mins if i recall.

hope that is of help if not i will try and find the service manual.

    Cheers Bob.
