    Re: Annual Inspections

Once again it seems to me that we have some in the know, that are not letting on to those that would like to know. Many of the members of UKW will not be at the friday meeting and thereby have to use this media to get the information. The time for political wrangling has passed, we need some plain speaking here – Im glad to see the matriarch (Ken) maintains the standard.

    Re: CDSL

Kevin – Since you are in the know, we have now reached the point where those ex NESN agents will now be able to do work for CDSL. However, I note that they are sending out letters asking for independents to sign up whilst it seems not contacting the ex NESN people. Clarification would be good??

Ah must have missed this the first time around. I could never understand why Servis UK would want to pack up many of there returns and send them back to Italy. Whenever I asked I was always fobbed off with something like – ‘there is an area in which dodgy agents can scrap good machines and con us’ Now if you can put something together Ken I’d be interested – Monz

When will these silly buggers realize that by overpricing the parts, all they succeed in doing is moving the cover to another manufacturer. Thereby, losing the potential sale and associated service. Talk about the blind leading the blind.

Re: Waste Disposal Unit – ‘In sink erator – Model 55.1’

Thanks everyone for the info – Good fault this one, unit trips out on reset button, customer thinks the ‘orange peel’ flaps are jammed and pulls them all off. I remove 50p piece from inside (dont ask) wife then tries machine and catches a facefull of muck, husband retires to garden! (Honest he didn’t laugh till after he got out the door) I depart indicating Ill be back if I can get the part. Just to see the look on her face was worth the charge.

Another one here Laurence, if the freezer fan packs up this causes the evaporator to freeze up whilst at the same time giving no air flow to the fridge.

    Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 ( AWD 10 UK ) Problem – please h

When the knob starts clicking around look at the power neon. This will flash a number of times and then there will be a short gap and it will flash again. Count the number of flashes and post on the site and someone will help you out. Please be advised that these machines are absolute sods to repair even for those of us trained by Ariston. Good Luck.

    Re: Hotpoint Advertise Franchises!

About two years ago the frachisees were being paid £15 a job whilst the agents were getting £25. Unless Merloni has had a brain storm i doubt that anything much has changed. One thing for sure is that they want to control your operation whilst at the same time paying peanuts. Even this monkey finds it difficult to understand how they can justify an out of warranty call charge of in excess of £100 [customer charge]. As one once bitten they better put meat and veg on the table this time round.

Whats your point Martin, how many appliances and manufacturers use bought in components that fail?

    Re: Servis door handle kit

Just a note servis charge for the door catch components individually, if you have broken only one of the parts this part can usually be sourced for less than six quid. Makes the price sensible if you do it this way.
