    Re: Servis Saga (M3025)

Of course, one could conclude, that had you stuck to your guns about having a defective machine in the first 28 days, Servis UK and the retailer would have offered you an automatic exchange. And whilst I would agree, that had you spent more money, the chances are that you might have got a better machine you could equally have bought a dog.

    Re: Hotpoint WMA Spider Bolts

Dave – dont bother using the Hotpoint spider bolts the things are a nightmare. Ive been using the ones fitted to the late Zanussi which have a 10 mm nut head. Saves on having to drill the originals out if you have to, they have something to hit to loosen them off, and they fit a treat. Bonz

    Re: D&G Hotpoint Work

To be honest, if D&G have a problem with delays, in getting Merloni to the customers doorstep, they only have to use THEIR network and pay the standard rate and the work will get done. It might cost them a few bob extra but all sides wouldn’t be feeling peed off.

    Re: D&G Hotpoint Work

They offered us the Servis work sometime ago at a fixed rate about £65 a go, if I remember right. With the number of modules we were changing together with backplates we worked out we would lose about £30 a call. You only need a couple of WMA bearings to do and you need loads of others to make up the loss of time and money. Its alright to say that you need quantity to make it pay, but the reality is that most of the D&G network are small companies that can’t aford money tied up in stock to cover Hotpoint, Indesit and Ariston. If you look at it, why are they offering it – because they don’t want to pay the manufacturers charges.

Chris – Went out to a Smeg equivalent with the same fault code neons. Further investigation led to a duff heater thermostat at the front. This on had the standard internal element not the tube type fitted in the base. Hope that helps.

Don’t know if you are an engineer but Evolution F05 indicates a problem in the pressure switch, water sensing area. Hope that helps. Regards – Bonz.

When I used to work for Merloni this was a classic module problem. Machine would progress through the program but would refuse to do final spin. I suggest you put your postcode on the forum and Im sure someone will supply either a module or labour and module for reasonable price. Good luck – Bonz

Ken – I agree with most that you say, but with the exception of Graffters, we are continually putting them on stop for late payment/non payment. They only seem to pay when they have another job lined up that they need doing yesterday and then you wait months for that payment. I would agree that they are always polite but if you’re not getting paid does that help??

Chris – You,re on a 50/50 here, is it the eeprom thats causing the problem or is it the module. As the two have to work together the best way is to change both – the eeprom is only about £15 and if you are doing it for a customer best to change both. If its a private job and pound note dependent go for a guaranteed refurb from either EMW or QER. If you need further info drop me a pm. Bonz

Rudi: One thing is for sure, I for one won’t be doing anymore Coverplan work for the money that was on offer last time. The variation and quality of product, the rudeness of customers and the lack of technical support, together with 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} wrong part number enquiries and awful returns policy, just leave that nasty taste. Add to this the 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} that needed a second visit and things don’t look too rosy. Too much hassle for too little return.
