ParticipantThanks kwatt
will print that manual out. Will try reseting and running the test programme before fitting the pcb.I would be supprised if the reset alone fixed it but will let you know.

Have you done the diagnostic tests?
Reset the top PCB?
K.
Thanks for replying, I have ordered the motor control board.
No I have not done the test procedure or the reset. I have downloaded the service manual and I cannot see them in there, where do I find them.

ParticipantHi EMW only guarantee for 6 months, I tell the customer before I pass on the guarantee I get.
Also the last board I fitted I charged £130, I always mark these jobs up as have to take into account the failure rate on them.

As that transfer tube was blocked the chances are the turbidity sensor in the heater box is also gunged up to buggery and will play up affecting the time-out. (showing 1 min on the display = time-out by the way.)
Also failing to drain in the allotted time = time-out.
Failing to heat in the allotted time = time-out
Failing to fill in the allotted………………You catch my drift here? 😉
Often when you have cleaned out the gunge from the pipework it takes a while for the m/c to flush through to clear a gunged up turbidity sensor. And a few 75 degree temp wash cycles with a cleaning tab can sort it I find. Mind you, it is essential to inform your customer to ‘reset’ the m/c to clear the 1 min default before putting on another cycle. Unless they reset it chances are it will just play up once again.
thanks for replying to this one guys, I think it must be the terbidity sensor thats blocked and I am not going to take the heater unit out unless I am sure.
Will just have to refund the customer. 🙁boselecta

ParticipantIve come across this half dozen times even seen them block the drain pump, hopefully they will continue to become more popular, got to keep busy!

Participantwell done for sorting that out.
Quite honestly this is beyond the technical abilities of 99.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of domestic appliance engineers so the chances of getting a awnser to your initial question that would satisfy your technical knowledge on a component level are approximatly 0.001{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}

Participantno you cant adjust the warning noise delay time.
Advise your brother leaving the doors open can cause overicing on these models which will result in loosing temperature and a probable expensive service call.

ParticipantI like the “your call is valuable to us” bit!

ParticipantActually looking at the http://www.train4tradeskills.com/ in more detail, nowhere does it offer training for domestic appliance engineers.

ParticipantVery true this trade is flooded now in my opinion. For the last five years loads of plumbling trade academys (or what they call themselves) have sprung up, the trouble is there are’nt enough plumbing jobs out there.
This trade is starting to suffer from the same over enthusiastic training companies, one even advertises on this site.boselecta

ParticipantYes easy job fitting those jockey pulleys/ wheels.
When I fix machine I get a sense of satisfaction at doing a good job, cant understand what satisfaction there is from spending precious time (that i should be spending with my family) helping strangers in the public forums.
That said at least its not a un-healthy way to spend your time and I suppose your probably not harming most of the customers so more power to you.
