Definatley worth mentioning the resistor that goes on the Whirlpool AW05 range of washers, that has prevented me from BERing a few machines.

Avoid leaving invoices like the plague, I have learnt to request cash rather than cheque.

Letters are easy to ignore I would recommend going round to there house in the evening and request the cash, (try to keep it non-confontational). Say your just passing and you will come back tomorow if they like etc.

    Good luck.

    Hi Matt

I would recommend calling out a professional to look at this.
When the earth wire becomes live, any number of components can fry, in my experience often more than one part when DIY’ers have a go!
see the “repairs@” is my advice.

    good luck

In my opinion the Siemens is better quality despite the long guarantee from Gorenje

    Hi Aqua_serve,
I personally don’t know how you define “unskilled” work, but that plumber sounds like a complete trouble maker.

I have people refuse to pay my full invoice and after debate with the customer I have come to an agreement to meet mid-way.

You may be morally correct and you may win the court case but my opinion is it really is’nt worth the trouble.

My view on it is to consider the wasted time going through the long and drawn out process of the legal system.
Look at it in financial terms, all that wasted time you could be out doing another 10 more jobs!.

I think it is amazing you guys who post on the public get this kind of grief!. You are offering quality free advice in your own time. These kind of people clearly don’t know they are on to a good thing.

To be honest I can’t really understand your motivation for posting on the public forums after your own work, but credit to you for taking the time to do so.

    Hi Fletchhouse,
I would go for the Bosch despite the long guarantee of the Gorenje, better quality components.
    Just my opinion.

Im no legal beagal but I think they would be on very dubious legal ground to not pay you if you are a full time employee.

As a full time emploee you do have protection against your agreed wage and deductions have to be made with your consent.

Unless of course your contract stipulates that pay is terminated under such conitions.
