ParticipantRe: Bosch WAA24161 W/M opinions?
Thanks for that info. Don , as you say a very good profit margin on a sub £300 machine. Probably quite an easy sell with the Bosch name behind it and a 2 year guarantee :D.
Think I might give DAD a call , are there any delivery charges on top of the prices you’ve mentioned?
Thanks again

Nice price too Apex, at DAD 😉If you don’t mind me asking Don , what sort of trade price are we speaking about.
Is there a large mark up to be made on these ❓Bryan

Don’t ask me why Tim but I’d ask her to try a wash with a normal load instead of empty .

This fault on BSH group washers has been mentioned several times on this forum and I don’t think anyone has come up with a definitive answer (not even gegsy :)).
I’ve observed this once myself on testing after replacing brushes on a Siemens washing machine but (having tested everything) I asked customer to put it through a complete wash cycle and to let me know if there were any problems. Never heard anything so assume all ok.
Might be worth getting customer to try a normal wash and see what happens.HTH

ParticipantRe: Bosch WET2820GB/13 Motor open circuit
Hi Bob
The TOC is in series with the armature but I asked the same question about the tacho a couple of years back and no-one gave me the answer.
My guess would be the brushes are on their very last piece of carbon dust giving you continuity with your meter but only splitting the motor will reveal all. When you get the end-cap off all will be revealed.

ParticipantRe: Candy T/Dryer CDC266UK
Think I’ll just order the 04820086 listed heater , £28+vat from Masterpart so not really worth the risk of saving a few quid on the other part no. because knowing my luck it wont be right.

Thanks Martin , that’s where my original confusion began as I too think that it’s possibly the same element on these dryers :haier:
However CIV100 is listed as 04820062 although both seem to be 1050w+1050w. This one is half the price of 04820086 and wonder if anyone knows the difference between the two ❓
Thanks again 🙂

ParticipantRe: idiot customers
It’s the hose dis-connectors I don’t like and it’s always when there’s plenty length on the hoses anyway. Never had anyone dis-connect the water hoses when they’re too short and need to be dis-connected.
Had one today with the washing machine in the middle of the kitchen floor with all hoses removed and I’m there to find a small leak .
Small connection tax charge on the bill 🙂

ParticipantRe: Prices in the Shop@
As a matter of interest what would be the total invoice price to a customer buying 1603006 from the UKW shop ❓
When you add delivery charges and vat it’ll probably be pretty close to the normal retail price anyway I’d expect.Bryan

ParticipantRe: Monthly Insurance
Don’t know if this is of any interest but I’ve been reliably informed by a customer this morning that she recently purchased a 3 appliance D&G guarantee for………£9:99 per month.
She took it out because the bearings on her Hoptoint WF washing machine are failing and she’s had her vacuum repaired twice in the last year :rolls:.
Is this a case of D&G undercutting the competition ❓

If I had been the expert I’d have insisted on pointing this out so as not to cause us honest hard working engineers a problem every time we come to replace a pump.
Not looking to defend the cowboy but some of these programmes are way stacked in favour of what’s good for TV.
