Re: CCJ, where do I go now?

Get yourself back on the property and take the seals / stat off. let them know once the cheque clears youll put them back. Not legal but it works. Once installed its their property unless your invoice states otherwise. But I did the same with a washer one time. Took the timer off until they paid. Payment followed promptly.
Lets face it if you dont get paid at that stage you wont get paid..whatever,

Thanks Jim. Really enjoyed the trip down memory lane. Although my time at Hotpoint it was new power units / gearbox, clutch, pump or motor. With the odd thermistors. But I did find changing the power units very rewarding jobs. Unless I got two together….

Unfortunately I’ve not needed to use them for some years as I’ve not been retailing but very fond memories of the reps that use to call on us. Dave Hudson would call, bring in his lunch and leave three hours later. We always ended up buying more than we should have but really enjoyed his company. A really good rep. Perhaps if he was still there they wouldnt have gone bump. 😥 Hope it doesnt effect his pension though ❓

    Re: Admiral GC2224GEKW damper

    Hi.
The heater kit is required when in a humid environment. Moisture settles on the damper door and condenses then freezes, This usually hapens early on in the life of the appliance unless something has changed i.e resited, double glazing or a range cooker fitted etc. Anything to change the immediate humidity.
If you are replacing the damper a heater kit wont go a miss but check also that the door hasnt dropped like the last one I attended. It had a few dampers fitted by the original engineer, but they missed the door had droped allowing warm air to enter. Caused the same problem though.

Re: HPT DF 61 LOWER DOOR SEAL

Not that difficult. But you do need to remove the tension off the door first, otherwise you will end up fighting with the door. Remove the side panels and unhook the two strings off the hinges. Once your into the inner door it will make more sense.

12868513 is the cheapest version of jazz board and will need programming. Code is given in the rating plate usually 05 for that model Instructions included in the box. If you don’t want to take it on contact a firm called Liberty in that area.

Long Screwdriver under the motor shaft and a little silicone spray on the driver shaft works wonders, just don’t jam it into the motor winding’s like someone I know.
Under the shaft at an angle to the belt and pull down whilst turning on to the shaft. Never fails and easy.
Do Hotpoint Indesit still supply their engineers with a big F off screwdriver?

    Re: Gas Safe Inspector

    Hi,
I asked the question re working on gas appliances and carrying out non gas repairs and was sent T bulletin 043 from gas safe.
The bulletin says its derived from electrical contractors assoc ECA and the HSE and confirms electrical work can be carried out without being registered with gas safe.
This applies to installing or maintaining electrical components of a gas system provided the work does not involve breaking into the gas system or combustion system. This is the best clarification I can find. But technically if your trainee isn’t registered, he cannot work on gas. This may help guys replacing oven elements on dual fuel appliances, but its a bit chicken and egg. Not trained cant register, not registered cant train….Erm…. Thinking about that one….

Is the machine functioning without the display. I have had two variations of this fault. One was the display pcb and the other the powerboard.
