    Re: AWM8000 Whirlpool..F08

    I wont have access to tech docs until the weekend jim , but regardless of fault code displayed , i find 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of faults on these can be solved by checking connections on ribbon cables between 2 control units – sometimes even a wiggle will do it without you being able to see any problems ;
if you are still stuck later in the week, let me know and i will see what i can find

the water bottle is screwed to the front of the fridge evaporator cover , inside fridge compartment, behind veg drawers .
take the hose off the solenoid and blow into it . if it wont blow, you are frozen , if it isn’t frozen, water will spurt from the dispenser .

Worth checking first that the water bottle isn’t frozen up – usual thing with these when the defrost cycle fails

Re: Brandt integrated freezer – door seal issue?

If it is integrated , I would check and make sure the panel door isn’t stopping the freezer door from closing – maybe undo the fixings so the freezer door can move independantly to the panel – it certainly looks like it is a sealing issue there

if i recall , it was almost exclusive to philips …. until a group of young trainees caused havoc with fire extinguishers etc ; that was the down side to allowing guests to drink their evening meal allowances , i guess 😆 .
their in house video channel was something else too – tame by todays internet offerings, but in those days quite blue !

As for the hn3156 , i still have a bag of ball bearings from the clutches somewhere – they will come in handy some day i bet 😆

is your dishwasher connected to the hot water supply ? if so , the hose may have gone soft and flexible when you did your first wash, and allowed the hose to set a kink . Other than that, could be flowmeter acting up or pressure device in sump .

yep , i was with philips then too , some great machines . remember the HN3156 top loader ? i reconditioned one of these for home and had it for years and years .
As for 604 Purley way – last I saw it was an indoor go-kart track .

😯 Surely you can use your charm to get a coffee at every call. 😆

    John.

It is the hours driving between calls that I struggle with 😆 …
And when I have my catering engineer hat on, I see too many things to ensure I prefer making my own 😯

    1600… ❓ That is/was a front loading automatic. 😉

I know , Jim , James is looking for one of those to add to his collection .
I wonder if Eastlmark ever saw / remembers the one of these that had been hand painted to match a kitchen all those years ago in Spellbrook ?

    Re: Hotpoint Twinny Problem

It is worth taking the spin can out , James , in case something has gone over the side and is wrapped around the shaft , preventing the can from turning.
Also worth noting, neither wash or spin motors should be switched on if the machine is on it’s side , this will mess windings up due to the relay mis operating .

Good luck with your searches , and don’t forget to keep us updated .
