Re: Scandinova FF6-6845 Fridge/freezer -freezer complete def

There could be many reasons for the freezer to defrost ranging from loose connections to a faulty compressor.

Unless you are of an electrical engineering mind then its best to call an engineer.

You could try Repairs@ to see if there is someone local to you.

Thanks Dave, unfortunately they only seem to do the ‘consumable’ bits (hundreds of different tips). The part I need is the injector thingy which they don’t list.
might try giving them a ring but i’m not hopeful 🙁

Therein may just lie the problem….if it does only turn in one direction then one of the reversing switches is faulty. I don’t recognise the model but these are built into the timer if it has an analogue control so a new timer would be required.

Not a common fault but one I’ve seen a few times over the years on various makes.

    Re: Black marks on laundry

    Hi Melissa

The black marks are caused by oil leaking from the drum bearings….bad enough but inevitably it means water will have penetrated the bearings which points to drum bearing failure i’m afraid (hence the noisy spin)….I would recommend you stop using it until an engineer has had a look as more damage could be done (thus increasing the repair cost)

Have a look in Repairs@ to see if you have an engineer near you.

    Re: Bosch SMS4042 water failure

Sounds very much like a water supply problem…have you done the usual checks i.e. fill hose not kinked, tap fully on (gate valves…the type with a small plastic lever are notorious for sticking and the plastic lever cracking)?

Just a suggestion for a small tweak…the bold titles next to the buttons could be made to link to the section also, as the buttons themselves are fairly small?

Again from memory (so don’t quote me) the genuine part does come with the end and clip but someone with the TDS disk might be able to help more.

    Re: Drum not turning

The repair is probably very simple for an engineer….most likely the motor brushes have failed. If you feel unable to check this yourself then it’s time to call an engineer for what should be a quick and easy (cheap) repair.

Have a look in Repairs@ if you need an engineer, but if you’re going to have a go then you must of course unplug the appliance before doing anything else.
