Re: Bosch WTE84308GB – Cleaning front vent!

Bosch have produced many models, some of them manufactured by other companies on their behalf but they don’t recognise the model number you’ve given so i’m unsure of the construction of that particular one….

Just check that the number is correct first and then advice may follow….

Have you checked the dispenser solenoid for O/C and the heater for earth faults?

I would doubt it’s the pcb unless it’s got wet…aren’t most of the components switched in the neutral in which case they’ll all have a direct live feed?

Time to megger everything i suspect…

Hi Chris…sounds silly but have you checked the pressure chamber for a blockage?

Re: Bosch Replacement Pump is different size

That sounds unusual! If the inlet into the pump is not greatly smaller than the sump hose then you could use a screw-up type jubilee clip…i’ve successfully done this on a handful of occasions when the correct pump simply wasn’t available 😉

Sadly no, Martin. The part we need is just a small white plastic lug which IIRC was supplied with a new motor conversion. Which of course means it’s not in the manual…

Looks like we’ll have to ‘manufacture’ something lol

The 1 in the display is actually error code 1 which IIRC refers to a lack of heat in the required time so first port of call is meter the heater.

Power off at all times :zap:

    Re: John Lewis 1203

The wear of drum bearings is primarily down to the balancing of the load rather than the sheer weight or spin speed and of course the bearings fitted to different makes vary in size and quality.
Having said that, washing machine drum bearings almost never wear out…the failure is invariably caused by the bearing seal wearing and failing thus letting water into the bearings. They then rust, get noisy and eventually break up.
The bearing assemblies on Lux products are similar in theory to Indesit (Hotpoint) units but are generally far superior, of course in 1994 the then Hotpoint machines were more expensively built and it was possibly to actually change them…not so these days!

Re: Neff Dishwasher S4443W8gb/16 Strange Fault

IIRC the single wire (red/white???) fits to the element although in theory it wouldn’t matter which way round you connect the two wires as the heater pressure switch is in series with the element?

Re: Flashing Start Light on Whirlpool ADP 962

The most likely is an earth fault..the start light flashes an error code which in your case would suggest error 1 (1 flash repeated) but holding the start button for 5 seconds should clear it ready to try again, and the most common cause of earth faults are leaks so i would suggest getting the front lower panel off and having a good look for signs of water.
Isolate from the power supply (unplug) before doing anything of course. :zap:

Cheers Martin, my first thought was the door lock too so i replaced it but still the same fault. Not sure of the diagnostics on this one…it doesn’t go into it with the button pushes like the FJS’s or ZWG’s.
Criscold do you have the sequence for this one?

    Re: ISE 5 Mk 2

Thanks for that Ken, unfortunately this customer is adamant that this happens every time and it was only brought to her attention by a neighbour who’s own machine spins at 1200 but gets things much drier. It does seem daft to me that the top speed is unavailable when just the spin cycle is selected….AFAIK it’s the only machine in the world like it!
Looks like we’ll have to return and sit watching through a complete wash cycle to find a fault that might not exist oh joy lol.
