ParticipantRe: Smeg Dishwasher not emptying at end of cycle
Dismantling of the drain pump to remove whatever is blocking it is your course of action 😉

If the inlet valve is not blocked and the inlet valve is working fine what else could be the problem?
As mentioned would the drain hose height cause the dishwasher not to start its cycle?
Is there somewhere I can find the manual and install instructions?
Thanks
RobFirstly, one step at a time 😆
Secondly, as has been said above the end of the drain hose needs to be above half way up the appliance to prevent syphoning whcih would affect the cycle.
Thirdly, it’s extremely unlikely you’d find any instructions for this model now let alone a manual 😕

Ahaaaa! So that`s what i came across a couple of years ago! In my case i did manage to eventually chip it all out using a hammer and a small screwdriver as a chisel 😆

Not really a problem as such, more a case of the way it is designed. Like most machines these have ‘out of balance’ sensing which is basically a speed feedback from the motor to the electronics. Not enough wash load means not enough to balance the weight in the drum easily which means no spin. Unfortunately your machine is particularly sensitive to balance 😕

Lisbonlion wrote:Nope not the supply line Clive, lots of water pressure.
RobThe issue may not be water pressure, rather flow rate. Having done anything with the plumbing supply the first check is the inlet filter which will collect any muck disturbed in the pipework. On your model it’s not very accessible….you will need to unplug (most important as the mains terminal block is adjacent to the inlet valve) then tip the machine back at 45o, the inlet hose attaches near the front underneath. The filter is just inside the valve and can be pulled out for cleaning. Removing the lower kick panel will make access easier.
If that doesn’t sort it then it will be the valve itself, i have had a couple over the years that just won’t let a full flush through 😉

you will not be able to remove the black grid only until the whole water level switch assembly is removed from the sump underneath. Once you have the assembly out you will see how it clips together 😉

If it was working before the renovation then something is wrong with your supply piping. You can check this by running the fill hose into a bucket…see also if you can stop the flow by putting a finger over the end of the hose. While you have the hose off check the inlet filter isn’t clogged too.

I imagine the technician was referring to the height of the water tank that supplies the cold feed…if thats too low you’d get insufficient water pressure at the machine 😉

ParticipantRe: Powdery limescale type substance
we’re down in the Chiltern hills here which are basically solid chalk so the water here is pretty hard and using the combi-tabs just isn’t sufficient for a perfect wash result. I suspect you may have the same issue so the best thing to do is run a descaler through (just follow the instructions on the package) which you can get here
Then buy some quality dishwasher salt such as Finish and fill the softener, the problem should then disappear!

…and are you in a hard water area?

ParticipantRe: Powdery limescale type substance
Firstly establish it is limescale by wiping it away with vinegar or lemon juice. If it readily dissolves that would prove it…let us know how this goes?

I don’t think i’ve seen that fault either and my instinct says pcb too, given that all the water level control side is ok?
Greg may be one to help here?

You’ve seen the black grid in the sump, behind that is a rubber diaphragm and behind that a microswitch. Yes the black grid will come off but only when the whole assembly is removed…this is a quarter turn twist fit from underneath. It is possible to remove whilst the machine is in situ but if it’s plugged in behind then you’ll need to turn the house supply off to isolate the machine if you’re not going to pull it out of the housing.
If you do pull it out you’ll find it’s generally not that difficult and this will give access to remove the base pan which makes the job a whole lot easier!
Once the assembly is removed it can be carefully taken apart for inspection (cleanliness and operation of the switch etc)

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFF2000. Fix or bin?
Noises are subjective things but failing brushes make a crackling noise on spin. The test is when the machine is in full spin switch off and the noise should immediately stop long before the drum stops 😉
