IIRC the ‘loop’ position is adjustable on these…it may have got pushed back slightly?
The clamp is held by one screw 😉clivejameson
ParticipantRe: zanussi f/f
I did see one of these where the customer was cleaning the fr out so the door was open for about half an hour…the lamp went bang and took both pcb’s with it 😯
That didn’t get repaired either 😕

ParticipantRe: Caple DI414 – will not complete cycle
F4 is a draining failure…so either it hasn’t drained, or it thinks it hasn’t drained.
First port of call is to check the pump…select any program and start, then hold the start button for about 5 secs to cancel the program, the pump should kick in for 1 minute.
If it hasn’t cleared the water then try the end of the drain hose if it connects to the sink waste fitting. After that it’s a strip-down job.
If it has successfully drained then next step is to check the water level detector…small black grid at about the 3 o’clock position in the sump under the filter. This can be cleaned with toothbrush/pipecleaner/hot water etc but note that there is a rubber membrane behind the grid which could be pierced by something sharp. If it’s particularly gunged it may need removing (access underneath).
Power off at all times :zap:
HTH?

Does the door try to ‘spring open’ a little? If so, open the down door fully and check it sits more or less horizontally. If it drops below that then you’ll prolly need to dock the pocket money from the toddler that stood on it…and use that to pay for the new hinges you’ll need 😉
If the door does sit horizontally then you’re looking at a catch problem which is slightly less expensive.
If you need an engineer then try the link below for a local chap?

K.
Most emphatically no…but it should be the remit of the TA to provide advice in an easily accessible form 😉

I think that’s an excellent idea Mal.
Martin, where could you find all that information easily on one or two pages if you were wishing to start a career in this business? It took me ages to find all that information and it came in parts from different sources 😉

I have already done so 😆
I think i have about twenty pics on my phone and they’re all of Crosslee heater connections….or Bosch DW element connections. I must get a mental block with these two, i rarely make a diagram for these simple jobs.
The problem usually happens when the good-loooking housewife smiles and says ‘one lump or two’ just when you’re half-way through 😉 😆

Actually finished fitting my ninth last week…but that’s just new kitchens, i’ve lost count of the number of makes of bits of kitchens i’ve had to rebuild in the course of 28 years appliance work. 😉

ParticipantRe: Carbon Brushes
That’s the old Quartz/Sapphire series by the sound of it in which case it’ll need the old Hotpoint brushes…white holder for laminated, black for solid 😉
have a look here and see if you recognise them?

ParticipantRe: move or stay
Would definitely be worth getting an agent in to do the valuations…the mere fact that the people interested in buying your shop are in the property above will add a significant premium to the price 😉

How do I Bypass the Thermostat to test if mine has the same problem?
Many Thanks for any help you can give me.

Not something we could possibly recommend!
If you can get your hands on a mulitmeter and check for continuity between terminals 6 and 4 on the ‘stat (or lack of) this will confirm a duff ‘stat…plug out at all times of course. :zap:

adamhornsby wrote: May I warn anyone buying a new kitchen, not to step near a Howdens job, because I’ve just helped my dad fit one and they are the most cheapest and filmisist things you can imagine.
And you’ve fitted how many Adam?
They are in fact as good or bad as any bulk kitchen manufacturers product, and the quality is very much in how well they are installed…
