ParticipantRe: Comet
Can’t comment on Comet specifically but like all large retailers there are pro’s and cons…having worked for another large retailer many many moons ago i can tell you that you will have to work hard and achieve targets, there may be some unsociable hours to work and you will never be a millionaire…against that you will will have a reasonable pay for the work, fringe benefits such as sick pay, holiday entitlements, pension options etc and the chance of a career path to a well paid job but above all, if you can excel as a salesperson there then you will have a skill that any company would welcome 😉

Where do I stand now with regards to the keeping or scrapping of this fridge? Any help would be most appreciated 🙂If it were us we’d just scrap the machine and be done with it…if they had the cheek to get arsey we’d threaten to charge them with the outstanding storage charge 8) …after all if they’ve given a false name and address then how the heck can you prove it’s their machine in the first place!!!
We do however always charge a £10 +vat inspection fee whatever the product large or small…this is of course deducted from any final repair bill but it does weed out those who don’t really want to spend any money in the first place 😉

That would be the part 😉
As to how easy it is to replace is a subjective thing i.e. how ease it would be for you to replace given your skills which we can’t judge. I would say that for a whitegoods engineer it’s certainly one of the easiest 8)
Take your time, watch out for sharp edges on the base plate which you will need to remove (two Torx screws) and if you’re careful you can reuse the hose clips although they are really designed to be ‘one-shot’. Any doubt then fit jubilee clips in their place 😉
And of course….all work done with the machine unplugged :zap:

On second thoughts i’d appreciate an email Dave…Connect show different parts for the same hinge number, and this is from a customer enquiry and i have yet to see the machine 😕

If you’ve established that there is a good water supply to the machine then i’d suggest the first thing is to have a good look at the pressure diaphragm and float system on the LHS along with the corrugated hose? If the problem isn’t there then it’s time to start following the wiring.
Run us through the sequence of what actually happens when the machine is started?

Try Bryan (R600a) for the Caple part

ParticipantRe: Panasonic microwave NNA755W door problem
Firstly there are no exhaust vents under the door. If steam is escaping it doesn’t automatically mean the microwave energy is escaping…the microwaves actually need quite a large gap to escape 😀
The door is not replaceable as a single spare part but is available in seperate individual parts however i suspect the problem lies elsewhere…
The machine has an internal fan which should pipe the air through the cabinet, into the cavity and out through the vent at the rear.
If steam is escaping from the front then there is a problem with the ventilation…most likely the damper has stuck inside preventing the air from getting into the cavity, probably not a big job and well worth doing.
…and yes, the engineer should do a standard leak test with every repair whether to the door or not.
As to prices these will obviously vary up and down the country so find an engineer and just ask first 😉
You might find a MW engineer on the link below ¬

I’ve seen a few now with what are obviously manufactured holes i.e. from the factory…the holes are about 6mm dia, one directly under the flood float 😯

Have you had the kick-panel off to clean the condenser at bottom right?

ParticipantRe: Diplomat ADP8252 – leak from underneath, near the front
I think that’s the one with the holes in the base pan just under the flood protection float that effectively prevents it from detecting a leak 😕
….in which case it’s a matter of getting the kick panel away and/or the base plate and finding the leak 😉
