There’s bags of info and opinion on here as far as a replacement goes, have a search and a good read 🙂

Just remember the old adage…’you get what you pay for’ 😉

It does of course give all those as options on the start page before you run it…and it remembers your settings for the next time 😉

It’s also started making an horrendous noise on final spin, but fine on wash. Could this be the bearings?. We have only had the machine 3 years.

Unless you can hear a foreign object rattling around then yes it prolly is the bearings, and 3 years is about right for many of these to start playing up 😕

Try the link below for a local near you to repair it for you…unless you are prepared to do a big job yourself?

And a good tip whenever you uninstall something is to run a cleaner before reinstalling…there are sometimes orphaned files which will stop the fresh install from working too 😉

    Re: Whirlpool 2000Plus ceramic hob.

As far as i’m aware there is no requirement to provide any ventilation, or indeed any way of creating any either. The only thing you could do is check that the opening in the worktop is as stated on the fitting instructions which will probably give 5-8mm clearance around the body of the hob to prevent some direct heat transfer to the worktop.

If the customer insists that it’s getting too hot then perhaps refer her back to Whirlpool?

I was once informed by a manufacturer that the edge of their hobs could reach as high as 80c and that this was within within the regulations 😯 …how true that is i have no way of knowing though 😕

The component on the board that’s fried will give the game away…find out which circuit it belongs to and check for earth faults 😉

Re: Zanussi Nexus FL-1282 programme problem

The soap drawer lets in the conditioner by simply topping up the compartment with water which then syphons out through the spigot under the little cover so the important area to clean is the spigots themselves…do make sure the roof of the dispenser box is clean too so a good flow of water goes into the compartment.

The program problems do actually sound like the timer itself is at fault (very uncommon on these) so it may be worth getting an engineer in to confirm as this is quite a high value part 😕

Try the link below for a local engineer if you need one?

Re: Zanussi Nexus FL-1282 programme problem

    1. The soap drawer needs cleaning…take it out and remove the cover over the conditioner compartment to clean especially in the spigot/tube underneath.

    2. Many and various…check the obvious first (filter). if that doesn’t sort it then let us have a bit more info i.e. when it sticks where in the program is it, is it still washing, is it hot, is it stopped dead, is it full of water or empty etc.

    Yes infuriating aren’t they? 😕
I have a special tool from smeg to operate them…basically just like a little plastic key to insert and grip them…without that you need to be careful not to break them.

As far as detailed instructions on disassembly we can’t provide that (sticky rules at the top of forums) just in case you hurt yourself…or somebody else reading this does. Suffice to say it’s not difficult, a bit like a big meccano set 😉

Just take your time and be careful of some very sharp edges on the stainless steel…and plug out at all times of course :zap:

That fault indication means it’s registered a leak…ie water in the undertray.

Drain the floor pan (tip back at 45o with towels down) then run it to find the leak.

Power off at all times of course :zap:

This model number doesn’t come up on any database i have 😕

Have a look for the rating plate (usually on the edge of the door or door opening) and let us have all the numbers you can find?

Re: Neff oven fan not working after bulb blew

The lamp, fan and element are controlled by the same selector switch which is built in to the main control unit i’m afraid 😕 When a lamp blows it’s filament can collapse and create a momentary short circuit which can pull a huge amount of power for a couple of thousandths of a sec (after which the trip will cut the power). This can seriously damage other components in the same circuit.

I would certainly say it’s not a DIY repair, i managed just a couple of weeks ago to successfully repair the control unit on a similar model but it was touch and go.

I would recommend getting an engineer in to have a go for you…if it can’t be repaired then a new control unit will set you back the thick end of £150 unfortunately 😕

Probably a little software glitch…do a search on here for ‘smeg’ and ‘reset’. Loads of information about button pressing and it might sort it for you. If not then two choices…live with it or replace the pcb 😕
