It definitely is an anti-flood device however, as you have correctly spotted, it simply registers by air pressure when the water level is too high in a particular chamber. In theory, if the water level in the tub is too high it will back up in this chamber and stop more water entering the machine by operating the micro switch which in turn signals the pcb.
In practice what usually happens is a blockage forms between the chamber and the main sump causing the incoming water to ‘back-up’ in the chamber and trip the microswitch.
Alternatively, the blockage prevents the water from ever getting into the chamber allowing your machine to completely overfill.
And yes, there is no polystyrene float fitted because the floor pan has drainage holes allowing the appliance to leak all over your floor…great design, not.

I suspect they don’t freely proffer that information as noise is such a subjective thing…one man’s squeak is another man’s whistle 😆
Besides, as has been previously stated, the actual noise level when the machine is running depends greatly on other factors than the design of the machine. We have all seen what are generally regarded as noisy machines installed in such a way that makes them fairly quiet, and vice versa.
My advice would be to buy a decent make, probably a miele, make sure it’s installed on a solid floor, then ensure the units either side are not actually touching it but are well fitted around it.
Finally, accept that whatever machine you buy, there will be some noise coming from it. By all means get the quoted db levels where you can but only use it as a general guide…a difference of a db or two will be negated by the installation!

Either the electrical contractors you mention or a kitchen fitter / installer. Whichever you choose, just make them aware that the aperture needs to be enlarged so they know to bring a jig saw with them.

Just make sure you don’t have a built-under oven underneath….i’ve certainly had problems with Smeg hobs in that situation, so it would be worth checking with the other manufacturers too if that’s the case. (induction hobs have a ventilation system on the underside which needs fresh room air)

Take heart though, all is far from lost as I suspect the future will not be in fluorescent lighting at all, but in the exciting and expanding world of the LED (light emitting diode). 😉Yes indeed Martin, here’s a very useful piece giving the low-down on LED’s and what we can expect to look forward to….

ParticipantRe: Testing An Hot Inlet Tap
The only safe cure is a new inlet valve (which i presume you are calling a ‘tap’)…they are not expensive and can be obtained easily from any supplier.

Professional help to be honest tanky, there will be bending to the hinges and possibly more…a careful inspection with an experienced eye should determine the extent of the damage and hence the cost 😉

ParticipantRe: Zanussi DWS939 D/Wash – Pump Impeller
Best answer is to pull the complete pump out…after you take off the lower rear cover, the pump is secured by a strap with two screws, it simply pulls out then. Just take your time over re-assembling the impellor kit onto the motor…it helps to note how the old one disassembles 😉

ParticipantRe: SMEG DWI614 – Door and button issue
As I said earlier….you have a misalignment somewhere…if you are absolutely sure the door is straight and the hinges undamaged (one quick test is to open the door fully and check that it doesn’t drop past horizontal) then you will need a new door lock.

This particular spot is on a hill (going up) at the point that the limit changes from 30mph to 40mph, it’s a dual carriageway where no accidents of any consequence to my knowledge have taken place, and if you care to search the this website you’ll see that the newspaper has run a campaign for nearly two years to get these figures released, something that the police were quite obviously embarrassed to do

The blinking will have a pattern to it which indicates a fault code. Count the flashes, it will then pause, then repeat the flashes….
Let us know the number of flashes and we can point you in the right direction 😉 -
