Thanks Kirk, Kitchen Economy don’t show the spring in their catalogue…it’s a doubled-over type….i’ll give them a bell in the morning!
Cheers for the other numbers though, the first one fits the bill 😉

Re: Bosch 200 WFL cannot remove drain pump cover

Yes, i had one just the same a day or two ago….the only safe way to remove the filter without damaging it is to remove the complete pump, separate the filter chamber from it and push it out from the ‘inside’ end.

Don’t forget to unplug before you do anything :zap:

Most likely you have had a ‘foam-up’ which has overflowed into the base pan in which case you need to carefully tip the machine backwards at 45o and let the pan drain (towels down to collect the water)
With luck there will be no damage from the water so try it again and let us know how you get on?

About the right price for cheap and nasty plastic, but then most of these ‘y’ pieces are!
You could try another washer in the hose ends….us independants usually have stacks of them, often a bit chunkier than the one supplied 😉

Due to popular demand here’s my tool 8)

    Take one standard flat-blade screwdriver….

    Bend the end….

    http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/cl … se-up1.jpg

Round over the flanges of the blade…

    http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/cl … unded3.jpg

Pat yourself on the back with the result 😆

When using it i don’t hold it by the handle, i hold it by the shaft instead which allows it to rotate as it goes around the seal 😉 Plenty of ‘Oooh Matron’ opportunities there then 😆

That bit comes with a new motor 😥

….mind you, the reason why it splits is because the shaft has rusted underneath 😉

Re: AEG 65050 Vl – Intermittently not cleaning/drying proper

More likely a water level control problem, the black specks (like black pepper?) indicate a lack of water and is usually more noticeable on the top basket?

Firstly check the inlet hose filter (unscrew the inlet hose from the machine to access) and if that’s clear then there’s most likely a blockage internally which would need a bit of engineering to identify and rectify.

Have a look at the link below if you need assistance, if giving it a go yourself then don’t forget to unplug before doing anything :zap:

    Re: Siemens SE24A230GB/17

There’s not much that could make a noise at the front left of the machine TBH, the drain pump is close to that area but they rarely make a whining noise, and wouldn’t give the symptoms you describe anyway.

So…assuming the noise does come from front left then it will be something to do with the water metering system.

On the other hand, if indeed the wash pump is faulty then an email to Dave_Conway at spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will sort it for you, however this is not an easy DIY job…you basically need to take the entire tub off the base to get sufficient access.

If you need professional help try the link below, if you go it alone then don’t forget to unplug before you do anything :zap:

Except for the fact that IIRC, an inverter will set you back about £140 and a magnetron about another £80 for a genuine panasonic, a bit less for a patterned spare (£50-60 ish)
