IIRC the heater is on the low pressure (suction) side of the pump in which case some sturdy cable ties should do the job 😉

    Hi Ken

I have to say this sounds one of the most interesting ideas yet and I for one am definitely interested! Customer satisfaction at a reasonable price, and with a customer base running into the thousands the potential over the long term is tremendous and that’s just the commission, but with the repair work passed our way and the chance to sell a new product too it gets even better!

7 flashes would indicate a problem with the flow meter, the pcb or the associated wiring.

You would need an engineer to sort it for you, it’s most likely to be a poor contact on the flow meter which is easily (and cheaply) rectified.. If it’s any more then the engineer should be able to advise you before you commit yourself further.

Try the link below to see if there’s an engineer near you?

Re: ‘Cookers’ fan oven spare part question

That’s a Homark by the model number?

I would expect any basic fan oven thermostat to fit it as long as it has the correct shaft/mounting and temperature range.

What are the names/numbers on the original stat?

As far as detailed fitting instructions go you simply won’t get them i’m afraid because of liability issues (i.e. you hurt yourself or property as a result of advice)

Re: Diplomat ADP8520 Error code help

That fault code is not in the official list but judging by the symptoms you may have a faulty dispenser (well documented on here), a faulty heater or the pcb itself may be faulty.

The dispenser and heater can be checked with a meter for circuit continuity and earth resistance….if they check out then that really only leaves the pcb.

If that is beyond you then it’s time for professional help (try the link below for a local engineer), but if having a go yourself then power off before doing anything. :zap:

WD40 will last about half an hour 😆

Use some LM grease (good old-fashioned heavy grease). As I said earlier this will give a temporary repair but unfortunately the grease will collect fluff gradually and the pulley will tighten up after a few months.

Salty crockery would normally indicate that the lid is not on correctly, or on tightly enough (hand-tight is sufficient). The lid may be split or cracked.

Or alternatively the valve in the softener is failing to shut off completely which means whenever the appliance takes in water, some of that water is flushing through the salt pot and into the wash water. This is indicated by the salt being consumed rapidly…you should expect a full reservoir to last in the order of four or five weeks at one wash a day in hard water areas…

Unfortunately the only cure for that is a new softener unit which is not really a DIY job.

If you need professional help then have a look in Repairs@ for someone near you?

Indeed, but it’s worth pointing out that this should not be greased as this defeats the drum earthing. :lesson:

Re: Hotpoint 9326 Reversomatic Dryer. Ear piercing Screech!!

This lovely machine has two jockey pulleys that are spring loaded to tension the drive belt. When the drum turns one of the arms gets pulled in and the other relaxes on the motion of the belt. You’ll find that one of the pulleys is worn which is why it only squeals in one direction.

The temporary repair is to strip out, clean and grease the pulley bearing but the only cure is to replace it. Chances are if one is worn the other is not far behind so best practice would be to replace both.

Have a look in Shop@ to find them…part no. 179070.
If they’re not there then a quick email to Dave_Conway will get results 😉

…and check there is no condensation in the clear part of the float, if there is the float has a leak and will need replacing 😉

The valves are for all intents and purposes sealed units so the only cure for a valve that lets water by is to replace it.

    Re: Door

2 of the screws each side of the door and IIRC 2 more of the top screws around the door on a fully integrated. The outer panel will drop and inch or so as you close the door, then pull away. If you’re not sure which screws, you may be able to just see the edge of the brackets they hold by carefully looking between the door and the outer wood panel.
Be careful though, some outer wood panels are darn heavy so be prepared to support it’s weight as you close the door 😉

Looking at your pictures it appears the wire that blew was connected to the blue component? (grill simmerstat) If that’s the case then yes you will need to replace it.
Have a look in Shop@ for it, otherwise an email to spares@ukwhitegoods quoting the model details, plus any details on the part itself will produce results 😉

Don’t forget, power off before doing anything :zap:

Definitely not! The tag on the brush pushes in, tilts then slides out 😉
