I have to say though, David’s mother happened to wander in today and we showed her the prototype that we have there, she wanted to buy it for £800 10 year warranty or not, she just loved it and the features.
Easy sell. 😉

Connect have a lovely pic of 1701662 but it doesn’t show the bearing holder and rivets…have you ordered one of these before ?(don’t want to order it then have to order a complete back panel afterwards)
If it does come with the bearing holder then that’ll be job done 😉

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint 31358
The shaft and bearing have little wear to them, but the rivetted bearing holder is loose on the back panel and it’s flanges that secure the bearing are bent allowing the bearing to drop a little causing the drum to drop slightly.
It strikes me that these small pop rivets aren’t man enough for the job…is there room to nut and bolt the bracket to the back panel without the bolt heads fouling the drum?

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint 8633 F/F has ice forming underneath
Yes, unfortunately it’s time to replace it!
The insulation has failed underneath…these particular freezers are known for it…moisture within the insulation conducts the cold through the base creating condensation, which conducts the cold through the base creating more condensation etc etc.
There is no successful cure i’m afraid (it’s impossible to dry the insulation sufficiently and replacing the insulation is messy, impractical and doesn’t really work)clivejameson

….and thanks hotpnt too…
also forgot to ask if anyone has the part no. for the rear bearing retaining collar, the castlated affair that the locking pin slots through.

Thanks Don
Connect shows the drum support wheels as no longer available but shows a felt bearing kit instead….is this a modification or is this the end of the machine?

Does this machine have a test sequence? If so what is it and how is it accessed?

Do you know where I can get the part number for the bushes? It might be worth replacing them anyway, the washer is just over 2 years old with prob 4 cycles a week during that time. How long do bushes normally last?
You can obtain the brushes here http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/Washing+ … ushes.html
I would expect the brushes to have lasted longer than that…try turning the drum slowly by hand and listening carefully. If you hear a regular ‘tick’ or a clicking noise the motor may be about to let go 🙁
First port of call would be to get the motor off and have a look at the brushes…if they are less than 10mm in length then they are definitely worn out.
Let us know how you get on, and don’t forget, plug out before doing anything :zap:

ParticipantRe: siemens dishwasher top spray arm not turning
I have had one that ingested a piece of clingfilm into the wash pump which wedged itself on the impellor…in fact it was such a pain trying to dig it out i gave up and replaced the impellor kit.

Please please please do not use cable ties to secure the heater. The part number of the heater clips is 9900250 they are a good strong jubilee type clipDitto, it will blow the hoses off in a flash.
Jim.
I agree if on the high pressure side of the wash pump, but if it’s on the low pressure side then the hoses will have to withstand the maximum pressure of the head of water in them (6 inches at best)….and thats only when the pump isn’t running 😉
I have successfully used them in this way over many years….i have had one leak which was a faulty cable tie (could be pulled undone by hand because of a faulty barb)…which is more successful than using jubilee clips.

Is the heater on the output side of the pump?….if it isn’t then cable ties are perfectly satisfactory. If it is then i would agree a jubilee type clip would be required.
