Thanks for that Martin, do you have the circuit diagram too by any chance?

Time to get a meter out and look for an earth fault, heater is the usual culprit but could be a number of other things.

Plug out at all times while working on it :zap:

Given enough access to the front of the machine they are actually quite easy to work on. The pump attaches to the back of the motor so you may be able to pop it off by tipping the machine back. If not then IIRC you just need to undo the back panel, release and tip back the top deck then the rest of the cabinet just lifts away to reveal all.

    Re: Hygena APM 2590 Hood

Firstly, never do a live test..there is absolutely no need to.

Secondly, these hoods are shockers for the solderjoints on the switch pcb letting go. This is usually obvious by the burn marks around the joint in question but not always.

Best advice is to simply resolder all the joints on the pcb, reinstall and test.

    Power disconnected at all times!

Yes, there has been a discussion of this as there have been some disastrous failures…if you have a good search on the site there’s plenty to read about.

IIRC a 32A should do the trick?

Most likely it’s still blocked in the roof of the dispenser and will need removing and stripping it open for cleaning.

Which tablets are you using btw?

Hi Jim…don’t ya love these kind of jobs?

I think you’re on the right lines with the water pressure/aquastop…i suspect the only way to confirm is to establish there is a good supply first.

It’s entirely possible that if there’s been a lot of junk coming through the supply then a particle has got through the filter and entered the valve body preventing it from opening up fully? I haven’t personally seen this before on an aquastop but have replaced three or four inlet valves on the earlier bosch/hotpoint types that would barely let water in.

Is it a new kitchen? Have they opened up the spigot on the sink waste?

Re: Samsung Fridge Freezer – Fridge problem

Almost certainly it will need a new evaporator cover which includes a new fan motor. There is a well known issue with these icing up and the new cover is a modification to overcome this…have a good search on here with your model number and you’ll find all the information you need.

We need a little more information i think…when you set it to wash at any program other than 30 deg. what actually happens when you switch on? Does it do any part of the cycle? If so what does it mange to do and for how long?

    Well…speed of service might increase?

It certainly gets interesting around 10-11k revs 😆

Just to update you all, the examiner i had for Module2 was a pleasant chap riding a large red and white beamer behind me with a radio link to me. We had a great ride in and outside Oxford and he was just like a friendly satnav with his instructions. We encountered various road conditions including speed humps on a busy road, 20mph restricted roads and some national speed limit country lanes too.

When we returned to the test meeting point he beckoned me over and was starting to fill in forms…the first word he said was ‘Congratulations…’ I’m still not sure what else he said…it became a bit of a blur after that lol!

    Oh…and I have a new acquisition –

Clearly a thermostat problem, if you post up the model number someone can provide a part number. At that age it’s highly likely that the stat is obsolete however almost any generic stat of the right specification will be a straight swap and sort the problem.
