ParticipantRe: LG Direct Drive plea for help
Removing the rotor isn’t a big job (it’s basically the drum pulley held on by one 17mm bolt).
You need to get that off to remove the rotor (the static bit with all the coils) to check the hall sensor is mounted correctly but most likely the wiring to it has a break near the connector that fits onto it.
If the wiring is intact then most likely the hall sensor itself is faulty…

Yep…the only issue with a different connector block to convert the connection is the original pump has seven contacts and the replacement only six.

Hi Sean, are you in the trade? If you are best bet is to pm Ken Watt and ask to join then post up in the trade forums?

Well that got cropped inadvertently!
Here’s another…incorrect on the left, the replacement we need on the right!

No, the soap dispenser has a coil to operate it, this can intermittently go open circuit. The way to check this is to use your multimeter and gently flex the contacts to see if the circuit breaks although this is not foolproof…sometimes the only way to confirm this fault is to substitute it for a known good one.
DO NOT check for live power at any time, live testing is dangerous and completely unnecessary :zap:clivejameson
ParticipantRe: Smeg DWD63
Could be a number of problems, the first being the dispenser solenoid, secondly an earth fault or thirdly a faulty pcb.
The only pragmatic way to find out if its the pcb is to rule out all the other possibilities so time to get a meter out.

Yes they can be a PITA but suitably sized jubilee clips will do the job…

Never come across that before but logic says it has to be the pcb…

ParticipantRe: Smeg DWI614 E6 fault
Worth a look at the dispenser solenoid, often go O/C or even intermittent. Try flexing the spades while you meter it to see if the circuit goes.
A quick check is to connect any old good solenoid from a valve and see what happens 😉

Have a look in the sump beneath the filter…at about the three o’clock position is a black grid, it will be crudded up inside.
Clean with hot water and toothbrush but don’t poke anything sharp through it, there’s a rubber diaphragm behind which can be punctured.
If the muck is particularly stubborn then it will need removing from underneath (bayonet fit onto the sump)and carefully disassembling.

When you put it on a program does the drain pump run?

ParticipantRe: Diplomat ADP8322
That tells you the machine either isn’t draining correctly (check for blockages in the drain line including where the drain hose attaches under a sink) or the machine thinks it hasn’t drained even when it has.
If it does drain successfully then have a look in the sump under the filter at the black grid at the 3 o’clock position. This may well be crudded up and needs cleaning. Be careful though, there’s a rubber diaphragm behind there which can be punctured by anything sharp pushed through the grid. Best method i have found is start with a toothbrush to get rid of the worst then with some hot water in there then using a long piece of pipe or hose suck and blow the hot water through the grid to blast the last bits out.
If it’s really stubborn it will need removing from underneath.
Power off and disconnected at all times :zap:
