ParticipantRe: zanussi adp5966 F7 WARNING
Hi platespinner
The model number you quote is a Whirlpool model number!
The fault code relates to a water level problem….the first things to check are the filter, fill hose and drain hose for blockages/kinks.
If you still have a problem then you will probably need an engineer to sort it for you although it may not be serious.

ParticipantRe: Tecnik TKL9290 Throwing belt
If its a stretch belt then some of the support fibres may have snapped internally….seen this a couple of times on other makes.
Outwardly there is virtually no sign of the failure but a new belt will sort it π

Yes rossy….run a propreitry descaler through it then make sure you do a 90 degree wash at least once a month using a detergent that contains bleach (most do unless they say otherwise)
There’s plenty of information about this problem if you do a search of the forum.clivejameson

Firstly you might want to check the guarrantee with regards to free spare parts etc and then call BSH Appliancecare (Bosch) who do charge a lot of money (in my opinion) to repair a product, but if the spares are free you will most likely save a few bob in the long run……by the sound of it the heater has blown and this may possibly have damaged the electronics too.

ParticipantRe: Public Information
Well I for one will hold my hand up and say that I freely give advice (and will continue to do so) to anyone who asks, but that advice is tempered with the understanding of the motives and technical knowledge of the person asking….
We have all been at some time at the position of requiring information to ease our worries and often to ease our financial position too, and with that understanding I will happily give the benefit of my knowledge (as small as it may be π )….I am certainly not worried about the reduction of income that results from this, it is very small and insignificant compared to the number of paying customers I have, the ‘feel good’ factor far outwaying any other disadvantages.
The word magnanimous springs to mind πclivejameson
ParticipantRe: PC restore?
Yes Martin, a top quality internet package can’t be beaten (anti-virus and firewall) ….but the question is would you let any old rep (!) have a look at your bank statements or your credit card statements?….perhaps your savings and retirement plans or maybe your personal correspondence? If you let them loose on your pc then you might just as well let them do that too.
These days so many of us rely on our pc’s for all sorts of uses without giving much thought to the implications, some of which we are not even aware of…and the big question (a perfectly valid one) is who do we trust?
As far as your pc is concerned, almost anything is salvageable but just like the machines we repair we have to think about viability, i.e. cost in Β£sterling and man-hours against benefit of longevity against cost of replacement.
I know your quite ‘tekkie’ with computers compared to the vast majority of people having given me a little help π so in answer to your problem, a system restore may solve your problems but will eat a significant part of your hard disk space.
You say you are putting your ‘stuff’ onto CD, so if you can get all the bits you need to save onto CD’s then far better to do a full format afterwards…..even better if you have a full OS disk, just wipe the hard drive and start all over again.
The more difficult route is to sort all the problems out one by one and this can be hit and miss with no guarrantee of final success.
If you want to go down that road then by far the best site I have found for help is here http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/ ….there is an excellent notice board with plenty of keen geeks ready to help π
Hope that helps?clivejameson

Dave_Conway wrote:Ah, is this the one with the curved bracket thing that’s bolted to the bottom of the drum then the motor bolts to that ?
Yes thats the one!….its not the pulley end bracket (39) but this sounds like it?(no bolt fixing, the motor just hangs on a lug with bush on the end of the bracket)
I’ll give indimerlotpoint another call and see what they say this time.
Cheers guys

It doesn’t seem to appear on that drawing Dave, the supports shown relate to the front of the motor, but the support required is at the back. It bolts to the strut mount on the base of the tub and hangs down to the motor rear leg RHS viewed from the front of the machine, locating with a rubber bush into the motor leg.
