Seems they have an embassy here aswell 😆
Although they must share it with other countries as its flag changes depending on which team England play 🙄

The funniest thing is the scots will have to buy another fifteen flags too 😆

    Re: Replace Capillary Tube

IIRC the stat fits into an internal tube in which case the old one will simply pull out. Be careful to get the new one straight and it should push in ok but as has been said already, make sure you don’t kink or compress the phial or it will damage the stat (when you try to straighten a kinked phial it invariably breaks)

If the non-return valve was working correctly then there would always be a quantity of water preventing the white spirit getting anywhere near it.

…or to put it another way this is consequential damage to the appliance as a direct result of a faulty part within it….

my advice, persevere with Bosch to get a replacement.

    Hi jazzer

First thing to check is the obvious like power on etc, and also bear in mind that (IIRC) there is a delay start on the Bosch appliances which means it won’t actually start the compressor for about 10 minutes.

If you still have problems then it’s time to call an engineer…click the link below to see if we have one near you.

Re: Cooking on the oven base

From my experience the worst thing is putting foil on the oven base shiny side down to catch the grease…this very effectively reflects the heat back down again causing crazing of the enamel and sometimes premature element failure.

As far as cooking on the oven base goes, you can cook things like meringues but only in a coolish oven and after it’s been turned off so the residual heat gives a gentle cook….more like drying really.

    Hi Bill

The tech says AL7 is ‘motor jammed’ which I take to mean the wash pump ain’t performing 😉

    Re: Hoover HP6 130M

Just an update…the handle from an HP6110 did the job, and most of the ads on the net show handles on the 6130 😯

Worth noting as it must be a common failure…in this case the door had dropped causing a large force requirement on the handle to open it. :lesson:

    Re: Bosch dishwasher overfilling

The two I’ve seen with this problem would both work for a time then overfill…something to do with the temperature maybe?
The giveaway was the clear section of the float showed tiny traces of condensation inside…

Have you replaced the float with a new one?…I’ve seen a couple that weren’t sealed properly, got water inside them and so didn’t float high enough. 😉

Incidentally, I have had a couple of these faulty dispenser solenoids only show up when you gently flex the contacts on them and watch the circuit disappear on your meter. 😉

….but worth checking first to see how difficult it is to turn the drum by hand.

I have had a few where the front drum bearing wears (simple felt collar type) allowing fluff to get forced into the bearing and jamming the drum.

If thats the case a short term fix is to clean the bearing, but replacing it is better.
