Re: Bosch dishwasher SPS5462GB/19 not heating

Checked it in the customers kitchen, all seems ok.
Calls me back next day no heat, so I decided to bring it back to the workshop and test everything through with a bit of space to work.
Stripped heater, sump, hoses the lot all test ok.
It went through like a dream on around ten cycles so I took it back and
    charged for the time.
Get a call today, not heating again.
When I got there she’s got both the 65 degree and the rinse button pressed in. ‘Oh I use those two all the time’ :haier:

    I need a lie down 😥

Re: Laughing all the way to the bank

Had the rep here about five months ago. Prices duly mentioned with a promise that i must be on the wrong wholesale price band :con: and that he’d sort it out on his return.
    Nothing happened.
The reason I’m on the wrong band is probably because I don’t order enough from them. The reason I don’t order enough from them is because the prices are too high. A Catch 22 type thingy.

Mediator is helpful though (even more so if it had the manufacturers part numbers on it)

    Bugger!!
    I thought it might be:cry:
The kitchen just about fits round this thing and there’s no room for a workmate or owt.
I’d take this back to the workshop to do if it wasn’t town centre five floors up 👿

    Two go out tomorrow.
Both with the five and five.
    I feel a little tearful. 😉

BTW Im sure it’s all here somewhere but how do I go about registering the sale and extended warranty. Not wanting to appear fik or owt when I deliver them. 😳

I’ve got one of these little tinkers doing the same.
Loom visually is A1, no knobbly bits or owt!

There is a stat in the door adjacent to the timer, should that be n.c or n.o.
Heater ok and water level is fine but still no heat.

I’m presuming now from the previous posts that all the stats are n.o.
Anyone got a connection chart or diagram for this one?

    Re: Lost in translation

Customer booked me to a Smeg DW. No Drain.
Went in last Saturday tried to drain out , just buzzing, but lights on front indicate flood switck activated. Drain base and megger.
Leave it to dry for a couple of days, I’ll be back Tuesday when its dried out.
Went back Tuesday, meggered ok, side panel off to look for leak.
(Well most of it off, the lower plinth fixing had overrun the thread and would not be cajoled back on, no way. Had to do all this in a tiny kitchen with the panel at 45deg to the dishwasher, arse pinned against the biggest fridge freezer you can get in a tiny room).
Soon as I switched it on the base filled up again, but I noticed that the water was coming from the sump / tub join.
Drained again, meggered bad again, told her I’d be back Friday once it had dried out again.
Now the bit that really Pi***s me off about this one is that I’ve been off most of the week feeling crap, and because this was my only call for that day AND booked in after 4 so no chance getting in contact I decided to go anyway. On reversing out in the dusk light and drizzle I caught a low fence in the van and ripped off my headlight 👿
Got back to this call yesterday, meggered ok, nipped up loose screws in the sump. Try again, pump siezed. Change pump, retest.
    Pump buzzing not turning.
At this point the customers husband walks in and tries to get under the machine , with me, for a look.
‘I’m an electrician me but know nowt about appliances’ he says. This is to ring so true in a short while 👿 👿 .
So i tell him that he seems to have two separate faults. the leak and the pump problem.
‘ Oh the screws, I put them back temporarily after I’d had a look to find out why it wouldn’t drain’
With this my patience began to wane somewhat.
Retest with water, He’s also loosened off the softener nut and guess where the water ends up.
    Exit one engineer. :haier:

    Re: messy houses

Years ago, I went to a young couples flat on a notorious preston estate and the kitchen was the absolute pits.
There’s a baby in there (poor little sod) and it was screaming all the way through the call. In the corner of the kitchen was a pile of……well it looked like a bin had been upturned and left there. Among things I could see in the pile were rotten food, nappies, tins etc. Perched on top of this pile was the grill pan mesh with the start of their dinner on it!!! :eeek:
The washing machine was next to the cooker and I’d disturbed them making it.
    The machine wasn’t fixed.

When they won’t get off the phone when youv’e told them in no uncertain terms that you have the flu and feel like s**t and would they please ring back in a couple of days. 👿 👿

Or the ones who say ‘I’ll get back to you’ rather than ‘Sorry your’e speaking to a pikey git here and I’d like you to come round and work for nothing’ 😈 😈

    Flu….make me grumpy….no way 😡

Re: Creda 17112e washer door wont shut properly

    Yup, had one on Saturday.
The latch spring off inside the latch support plate on the door. Can happen if the door has been lent on and the latch is out of line with the latch opening.
The door gets slammed against the latch plate pushing the latch back.
Check the retainers in the latch plate AND that the latch plate hasn’t been busted.
