    Pressure switch defective;
    Electrical current leak between heating element and ground; Heating element; Wiring defective;
    Main board defective.

    Thanks for your replies on this, I called this afternoon and again never faulted for me. the customer said she did a heavy load yesterday and repeatedly failed about every 20-30 minutes and I now suspect the motor to be at fault as the insulation started at about 45meg but after 10 minutes changed to 9meg and have left the customer running the machine on a smaller load but due to the age I doubt that she will want the motor replaced.

    The round one with 2 spades is an NTC and the one in line to the element is a TOC/thermal fuse.

    would agree with Franz but also check the supply, if hard wired to spur check the connections there first and if on plug check in different socket as burnt out connection can cause this type of fault.

    I presume that you have checked the thermal fuse HPTC00199364 ??

    Haven’t done one for a long time and used to have the same problem until I spoke to a Zanussi engineer. First prize the push button off and then with a pair of pliers just break the old switch off from inside the machine – Fit new switch and replace button – Simple & no need to remove facia.
