No probs – with what you have told me I think you have either a gas problem or failing compressor. Both do-able – big problem for these is that they are usually under engineered. Need really to get a set of gauges on it to be sure.

Alain,
As you are aware this unit is designed to operate between 5-22C as the optimum temp for wine storage is 13C Obviously you are trying to operate at the maximum range of its cooling. First thing Id do is check that the condenser is free of fluff and that the internal fan is also running. If its in a cupboard then move it out and see if it works as ventilation is a big problem with wine coolers. Parts are available as the item is Baumatic.

As I understand it it is pulsed to the fridge when required but the priority is to the freezer. Haier 8)

Available from Connect Mark – the power to this valve is pulsed not constant – if you have a analogue meter, connect it across the valve terminals and you should get a pulse every 30 seconds. If not then you may have a pcb fault.

Forget down the road, we can’t get spare parts for items that are still in warranty. Not all chinese, some turkish but equally long lead times on parts. 🙁

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint Ice diamond 8321 compressor failure?
It rather depends on a couple of things – is it in good condition and do you like it. Take that a step further and note that it was British built in Peterborough and quality was more important then. Now look at whats on offer and in most cases cost is more important than quality. If you can find a half decent fridge engineer around you then I might consider a repair – parts can be sourced to do the job. 😀

I suppose the point is that yes we are a seven day society but as Ken would say (or think) ‘when the suits work seven days a week, then perhaps I will consider it’ – until then take a hike !! 8)

Ah yes Mark but it is one thing doing it (as do I) because you want to, it is quite another being told to do it and not getting a day off during the week 8)

ModeratorRe: Manufacturer No 2 looking for agents
Guys – I have now completed this task but I am missing a couple of areas/people – does anyone have the telephone number for Kevin Ibbotson based somewhere in the Sheffield area, and have had someone drop out covering Winchester area which is now up for grabs – pm me or email to ‘dales.electronic@btopenworld.com‘ if you want it.
You should all receive the introductory letter from the WTA together with the service level agreement from the manufacturer in the next couple of days. 😀
