    Re: sept 2010 meeting

Gents – Can we please try and not overlap it makes us look incompetent. By all means invite your chosen companies but not the ones that I have already invited – having got the yes from them kindly let me know who is coming or at least how many. Equally, I will let you know who has indicated that they are coming

Re: Yet another Hotpoint Mistral Plus (frost free) temp prob

There are a number of different versions of the Mistral, please supply the model number and serial number and we’ll see what we can do 😀

Fans do break up but you usually get a hell of a racket if they’re not on the end of the shaft. Fairly easy to find out, lower back off and remove fan cover rivett then turn and you’re into the fan housing. Plug out first please. Otherwise you have a blockage.

Re: Hotpoint Mistral replaced both thermistors now what

Firstly if the compressor (motor) is working the fan next to it should also be working otherwise the fridge will not get down to correct temperature. If the compressor is too hot its either because the fan is faulty, it is short of refrigerant or the compressor is duff. First thing to do is to get the fan working and take it from there.

Do you want me to get the ball rolling from the list we used earlier. I have invited Gorenje (Bill Miller/Garry Lee) who have shown an interest. I assume Simon from Amica is coming ? Has anyone invited anyone else so we dont overlap?? Obviously, Qualtex are on board, have we invited Masterpart and Connect? D&G have also been invited.

    Re: Waste Carriers Licence

Having been down this route with the ISE WEEE operation and reading with interest the work done by you guys perhaps now is the time to show either a united front and form a team to take the EA/Government on ( with DASA if they want to help) or start lobbying our MPs. The whole thing is just a farce and needs a massive overhaul that reflects the industry – what they have always been doing is supporting the recycling industry at the cost of the reuse community.

Re: where can I get hold of a replacement for my MFI APM6825

As Don suggests the major problem is not getting one to fit the hole more its rather on with the correct door configuration. From memory we have replaced one of these with a Baumatic BR27B but the door ratio was wrong and we had to connect both doors together to make it work. Not ideal but at least it looked OK 😯

This is probably the electronic module – if you post its part number which is on the label starting 546 we’ll advise further.

    Re: my 1st small claim

You will find if you go to court that the judge will be very helpful as will the clerk to the court, if you phone and explain your misunderstanding of the procedure. At the end of the day you are the one out of pocket and they obviously realise this. With luck the person that you are claiming from will get the hint and pay up.
