    Re: comp conversion

Looks like you will get away with a 1/8th hp such as an Aspera BPE1084Y or equiv.

Before you take it any further please note that this appliance has a 5 year warranty on the fridge side. FF = defrost sensor error RF = Evaporator cover fan problem (frozen up?)

Bosch are nice appliances but check out if they have got a sealed tubs ie one that you can’t change the bearings on. You could also try Gorenje or ISE which also have a two year parts and labour guarantee. I would personally rule out the Hotpoint. Whichever you choose try and use a local independent company as you will get better service.

That explains it – we’ve just had a massive order for snow camouflage kit for little people. I just thought that they had got the measurements wrong. 😀

Re: SAMSUNG RSH1DBBP WATER FROM DISPENSER NOT CHIILED

The flow of water in the system is as follows – water enters at the rear, is fed into a water tank in the fridge where it is chilled. Once you press the lever at the front, the water is forced out of the chiller tank across the front and up inside the door and then into the glass. To get the chilled water through you usually have to run abit off that is still warm. Its like the hot tap into the sink in the morning but in reverse. If having run a couple of glasses through you still have warm water you need to call an engineer. Second point, some of these have a water bottle rather than mains water feed in the fridge door if this is your appliance then perhaps you need to turn the fridge temp down abit or else leave the water in longer to cool 8)

Good to hear it I’m sure you will not be disappointed however, I have been asked to point out (from the bosses) that yes you have a full ten year warranty covering parts and labour BUT if you call out an ISE engineer and the fault is found to be of YOUR making ie a coin in the drain pump or someone switched the water off etc, then a small charge will be levied. The ten year guarantee covers all electro-mechanical faults but NOT customer errors.

    Answers –
Question 1 – Yes to all bits.
Question 2 – We now have in place home delivery and installation if you cant find a local supplier.
Question 3 – Up to you Miele & Siemens are both good but guarantees need checking – see your own queston. LG are Korean.

Do we like it?? Me as the engineer think it’s the dogs, the missus who uses it thinks it magic. 😀

Re: ISE 10/Maytag – is it the same machine?

Simbo – Perhaps an analogy is in order, you go to Tesco to buy a tin of beans. Once down the aisle you find Heinz or their own brand. Its whats in the tin thats important – they both have beans and sauce. In this case the ISE design team went out to Sweden looked at the options and then told the manufacturer what they wanted – the tin box that its housed in will probably be much the same, its what is in it that is different, very very different 8)

By the sound of it you have the same problem with them both – they are both short of refrigerant. You may be able to get a discounted repair from your local independent if you mention that you would like them both fixed at the same time.
