My favourite this week – Went out to a built in fridge freezer in a caravan. Customer had been forewarned of the visit but when I arrived had left instructions that access was not to be granted without him being there. Caravan site manager asked when we would return and was told “not sure since we can’t get access” Having a bit of sense he let me in and once the appliance was powered up it was apparent that the fridge compressor was stuffed. I left a message with the manager and was contacted later by the customer who stated “I was a manager with John Lewis group in white goods area and we have never had a compressor fail in such as short time (three months) I do not agree with your findings.
He was referred back to the supplier and low and behold we receive a message saying that he would be back down in six months and we could change it then. Two days later we were requested to go back and change the pot. Contact was made and a time arranged, during which the customer indicated that he would pay the labour charge on completion, with the proviso that he was satisfied with the repair and no damage was caused to his caravan. At this point I got abit peed-off and told the customer that we would arrange that afternoon to carry out the repair but would require the unit to be food free and out of its enclosure. As expected he went up like a bottle of pop, stating that he would not remove the unit – it gave me great pleasure in turning up, giving the customer the boxed compressor and indicating that the five year guarantee only covered parts and as such our responsibility was discharged. If you could bottle the look you wouldn’t need nuclear power !August 20, 2006 at 8:25 am in reply to: Bernstein/caremark/cookers appliances model 02-800473 #143203Dales-Electronic

Look where the power cable goes into the appliance. You will find the capacitor up there

ModeratorRe: BEST WASHING MACHINE
Two points worth noting, since most modern washers use very little water the premise that a hot fill machine saves energy is now a falacy. By the time the hot water reached the machine it has already filled with the cold water held before it in the pipes. Filling from a hot supply allows scale within the pipes to jam the hot inlet valve open. (Not too often but enough for us to keep the valve on the van). Not a problem with cold fill
Whilst the machines mentioned are excellent perhaps you would consider the ISE machine listed on the home page. Delivered to your door, installed by an approved independent engineer and guaranteed for 5 years both parts and labour!!Dales-Electronic

ModeratorRe: Samsung American style fridge/freezer temp problems
Hi – I assume this is the RS21 model (label on front left side panel will tell you) if not please repost with further details. Usually this problem is not the PCB but more a problem with ice building up. Many of the lads on this forum are Samsung trained so if you let us have your postcode I have no doubt someone can help.

We’re in on this too if we may – as an afterthought this is one of the major reasons that I asked that we kept the subscriber forum open, it gives the top table time to give us a nod before giving the rest the wink.

If you only want the relay the following Qualtex items will fit – F/P03 or F/P30 or F/P04 if you want to change the relay and overload complete the F/P 06 should do.
