ParticipantRe: Smeg DWF 66 fill but no wash?
It will either be the circulation motor or the capacitor that starts it, the latter normally.
Opposite ends of the scale as far as replacement goes though, the motor will be over £100 and the capacitor about £10.
If you’re having a look yourself, please pull the plug 1st :zap:

ParticipantRe: Exhaust thermostat
The price quoted by Clive is correct, SparkeyP probably has one from stock that he may no longer require and is helping himself and you by selling it to you at a reduced price 😉

I would point you to the recyling centre Simon but as a trader you can’t take them there anymore 😆
As far as I know, there is little or no tech info on these units, Connect carry the spares though.
Have you tried replacing the stat ? I get asked quite a bit for Daewoo one’s so it may well be they are the common failure.

ParticipantRe: Ariston LSI 61 – faulty cycle
It sounds like the drain pump is blocked to me monty, or it has failed.
The light/not starting problem will almost certainly be caused by the fact that it can’t drain itself.
If you’re going to have a go yourself, please pull the plug :zap:
Alternatively, have a look at repairs@ and the directories for an engineer near you.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint 8912 american style fridge freezer
It’s made by GE this one for Hotpoint.
The defrost system is much the same as for standard frost free units, probably best to start there, it’s all behing the freezer back wall (most of it anyway).

A friendly neighbours freezer ? 😆

Yes, they are related Paul.
As this is a frost free unit, the cold air is blown up in to the fridge by a fan.
What has happened is there is an excessive ice build up in the freezer behind the rear panel where all the cooling takes place blocking the air flow and some of the excess ice will be melting and running out from underneath.
The first thing to do is empty it then switch the whole thing off for 24 hours with the doors open and allow all the ice to melt. Periodically keep an eye on the tray at the rear you mention and don’t allow it to overflow.
Once all the ice has gone, switch back on and it will be OK, hopefullly cured, if it occurs again there may well be a problem with the defrost section of the unit and will need an engineer to call and rectify, this may take weeks or months to occur though.
See how you get on and let us know 😀

ParticipantRe: Beko Cooker cold oven
I’ve seen this quite a few times, it’s caused by condensation which all cooking processes will create.
Could I ask how old the cooker is please ?
I would also suggest a letter to Beko customer services, you should find the contact details on http://www.beko.co.uk

Sorry about that, we both replied at roughly the same time 😀

Have you tried plugging it in to a different socket Jason ?
It sounds as if the current connection is dodgy to me.

Is there a sequence to the flashing green light Lardy ?
It should flash x times – pause – flash x times etc .

ParticipantRe: hoover new wave plus 5
This sounds a bit of an odd one Rich.
When you say it’s pumping out at the same time as filling, the waste hose is high enough is it ? Connected to the sink trap or in a stand pipe.
Also, if the water is being allowed in on spin the inlet valves are being energised by the control unit, possibly a short in the harness ?
Please pull the plug :plug: :zap: if you’re investigating yourself.
Although, with a fault like this (if the waste hose is OK and no blockages) I would recommend an engineer attends to diagnose for you, have a look at repairs@ and the directories.

ParticipantRe: Any opinions on NEFF?
Huw, you won’t go far wrong with Neff to be honest 😀
Have a look at the Bosch and Siemens versions as well as they are all the same product essentially just with different jackets on 😉
