the plug does contain resistors of varying values.top of my head blue is variable yellow is 1100 and white is 900 without the plug the machine is a 1000 SPIN
(i stand to be corrected on the exact colours)

Have you been having to slam the door recently this is usually a sign the door lock is faulty and repeated slams will cause damage to the timer.

faults do occur on machines with age but this type of door lock mechanism is not widely used anymore and i am sure that it is easily repaired as the penguin says.
but in the meantime dont use it:)

i have never seen one of these spiders break or the pulleys’s.
but i have seen many many loose pulleys which cause loud cracking noises when turned by hand this is where i would look for the noise source should just be your flat fee for doing the work i would charge 35 + for it:)

I have the same problem, we too are with the tps but we still get weekly calls from ufindus we have neer signed a contract or even given them time to do a verbal one most calls start with them asking my staff to put me on the phone then telling me it is an urgent business matter or that someone wants 5 washers to buy or something when i ind out who it is i ask them, plead with them not to call again to put me on there do not call list..
and virtually every time all i get in response is fuck off or mardy bastard
    or wanker or just abuse.
what kind of company rings YOU to disturdb YOU then insults YOU.
i reallly dont care how many people lose there jobs but this firm should be closed.

then get home and realise that to us it means turning off the telly and breaking into a sweatlazy buggars but they still expect me to crawl around in there filth.
