ModeratorRe: CDA Selling ISE
I am given to understand that he will be selling them with no guarantee, we already know that he cant be arsed to obtain spares as he nearly scuppered this project by not obtaining them for us.
I really cant see him shifting them in any great numbers because who the hell would want to take the risk, the one thing we do have to try and be careful about is that our tech info does not get into his customers hands.
The only thing we can do is sit tight and see how desperate he gets, as far as i’m concerned he brought a lot of this on himself by doubling up on stock levels and not obtaining spares and tech info which would have given us more of a flying start had we had them from the off.
As we increase our agents and sales we can then begin to apply pressure on him about dumping our product into our market he will then have to ballance our increasing volume against the low volume he will get from his low volume direct sales.

We are all of us gutted by the bombshell of your post and as far as I’m concerned I’d just like to echo Ken’s feelings and request that you stay on board and help us to sort the network project out. That said, only you can decide how much you want to do, but know for a fact that your news in no way diminished our reliance upon the negociating skills, comittment, and concise strategic planning that we have on reflection far to often taken for granted.
I am not going to blow rainbows up your ar$e in fact this does not change my opinion that you are still a gobby twat. Just know that second in line after family we need you too. We’ve all come to far together for it to be any other way.

WOHA TIME OUT !
Irespective of how the network ideas pan out we all need to fully discuss, digest, debate, deliberate and decide on the best campain plan for any major project.
The biggest single problem that we have at the moment is that we are always trying to deliver new ideas and projects for the troops at the speed of light.Correct me if i’m wrong but I was under the impression that Dave and I had some input into the decision making process too. We need to remember that one of our golden rules right from the begining was the controlled and strategically timed release of any new projects. We have in truth been overwhelmed by people wanting to engage in projects with us and I fully understand that we have to investigate all oppurtunities but out of basic civility should we not at the very least set the presedent that nothing gets released to anyone before it has been fully discussed between all four of us.
We cannot have a situation where subscribers, moderators or anyone for that matter is advised on UKW future projects before all of the UKW directors.
I’m sure that on reflection we would all agree that our National meetings are the correct forum to release news on mutually agreed and prepaired information and projects.
I am very often sworn to secrecy over a certain proposal or project only to hear it come back at me from one of the subscribers, this has to stop.
With regards the pro’s and con’s of how we set up the network we all need to get our heads together I can genuinley see both sides of the argument for the blue print of how to put it together.
Correct me if i’m wrong but basically Ken wants to see it more of a co-operative with UKW owning a 51{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} stake for which UKW provide the I.T. communication infrastructure in the form of ACH. With the remaining 49{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} shared out between the members who provide funds and staff to oversee and run the day to day admistration and any required management of the network. Where UKW merely bill for transmittion of information
Where as Kev wants to see it set up on a more traditional corporate basis of sharehloders, investors, & shareholding service partners with a variety of share voting entitlements. with a Board of 10 or more directors ( 5 of which will be held by UKW directors) to oversee their respective service areas. This option would require a more hands on, administered system. Again UKW would provide the I.T. system
I know that both these descriptions may be viewed as an over simplification but we have to start somewhere. We need to either have a Skype conference or an actual pysical meeting to bounce the options around and come up with the solution with out dummies being spat out all over the place.

Have you tried to contact him again since last friday Dave and if so have you just been ignored or is the guy away or ill.
We may at some stage have to consider removing him from repairs @ if he continues to blank us.

Hi
Below in blue is an extract from an e-mail that I recieved from the Tech department of the manufacturers. in addition, if you refer to the programe discription sheet in the manual, it states that quick wash is only available with six programes i.e. cottons & synthetics.
Information attached as promised. This was extracted from the draft user guide for your product. Regarding the other issue, which I have tried to replicate here, if a program does not finish (the machine is switched off etc) then it must be cancelled before a new program is selected, as it is held in memory even after powering off.
I would also check with Mrs Phipps if she actually cancelled the previous programe and allowed the door lock to release before reselecting the new programe along with the required options before pressing the start button again.

I really belive that we would be sending out a very dangerous signal that we are starting to loose faith in our own brand. Remember we control tech info, spares and who gets the servicing work with ISE and at decent rates too. We would not be able to do this with any other brand.
We would also be sending out the message to CDA & Beko that we are not as commited to ISE as we had led them to believe this does not bode well when we are already more than aware that they are considering dumping our machines onto the market which could have the potential to blow us out of the water.
It is not merely a case of doing right by our corporate trading partners rather it is more important to consider our own credibility if we do not stand by this deal we may never be taken seriousley by any other manufacturer in the future that we may want to deal with. It is all to do with the track record that we are building for our brand
Dont loose heart, dont allow yourself to be distracted from the job in hand. We can already see that the idea is sound, that’s why others are trying to copy us A) Gorenje B) Qualtex
I firmly believe that if WE put half the effort into ISE that we do into seeking out and investigating new projects we would be a lot further down the road towards ISE being a success.

I could be wrong but it is my feeling is that the electronics tries to remember the last program somtimes. It is only a suggestion but always allow the door interlock to release after cancelling a program and then select the programe and all the required options before pressing the start button again.
Also be aware that the controller has a program lock option via two buttons that again will retain the original setting if the program has only been paused rather than cancelled to the point of the door lock being released.
I will get this confirmed and get back to you.

Once we prove our ‘route to market’ as you put it (or brand support as i put it) then why not stick with what we are trying to build. We need to show our agents that a full range of ISE appliances was always our intention and end game. Other manufacturers products may answer a short term problem for our guys to be able to offer a more complete range of appliances but it does nothing to build the IES brand or retain service work for our own independent guys in the long run, which is the ethos that our brand is built upon. I say lets not confuse the guys lets just stick to what we are building and develope and allow natural growth to occurr with regards our services and product range.

It’s just Bill being Bill, is all. Remember we decided to operate in a Gold fish bowl so we cant start moanin about it now. We are the most open Brand owner in the U.K. and as you’ve already seen our guys are the first to defend us as long as they can see that we do our best to sort the problems out.

Your obviousley suffering from a bad dose of comeradery with the added complication of community spirit syndrome.
The worst affected cases congrigate twice a year at the UKW national meetings where they gen up on all that’s happening in the industry.
The sadest cases come up with crazy ideas like launching their own brand, or sending one another free chargable work, after which they then retire to the bar to swap anicdotes and take the p**s out of one another.
If the symptoms persist we’ll probably have to book you in to the next one
at Manchester in september. you probably won’t get cured but at least you’ll have company 😆Sean

As Martin suggests I am absolutly gutted to think you could have possibly taken offence. My reply was only supposed to be a full and complete list of the differences between the ISE and OEM brand in response to your question. Perhaps I need to work on my writting style a little.
