    Re: P&G

We need some hot topics, god forgive me for saying so but we could almost do with another battle. If you can remember the amount of hits we were getting when the nesn thing was in full flow. I know we cant do this because we are all trying to be respectable now.
But we need somthing to stir the blood a little, somthing contenteous, somthing to rattle the cage and get the membership in general posting in on the site.

I know a lot of them are on holiday as this tends to be a quieter time of year but we have to generate a bit more flow as soon as the bank holiday is over and also push the meeting at Stafford.

    Ideas anyone

    Re: P&G

What we have to do is to get one or two of the big names to be prepaird to put their logo on the site and this is the question we should start to put to them not only P&G but others like CDSL and D&G.

I know that it is a smigen early yet but if it were mentioned to them as an eventual possibility, it would give them time to think about it and inform us what they would require of us in exchange.

Once you have a few good names up there, then it will start to snowball.

Re: Is This Legal Or Illegal?

Perhaps this should be put on the front page as headline news without mentioning names as you have to be careful when making the distingtion between a manufacturer and their uk appointed service organisation.

It should be stressed that this is both an illegal and downright dangerous practice that will not be tolerated by the trade members of this website and that any further instructions from any Work Provvider or Manufacturer to UKW Corgi registered agents to request customers to disconnect or reconnect gas appliances themselves before or after a repair would be imeadiately reported directly to Corgi.

And any authenticated /documented futher instructions of this nature will be named and shamed on this site.

    Opinions please.

Be carefull, as they will obviousley denigh that the said conversation ever took place.
We are almost at the point of needing to record every conversation we have with WP’s.

The best way to move this forward is to post it in the trade forums (without mentioning any names) Where the practice of getting customers to disconnect and reconnect a gas appliance after a repair by an unauthorised non Corgi registered agent as suggested and requested by some WP’s, would I feel sure, be roundly condemed by our members who should be encouraged to report any such requests to CORGI.

THIS WOULD SCARE THE SHIT OUT OF THEM AND MAKE THEM TOE THE LINE.

Re: Don’t Fancy Hotpoint, How about Hoover…

Perhaps they should contact RETRA like hotperloni and get sales assistantant’s to fix their appliances. I’m sure the electrical retailer’s wont mind having their profits tied up in manufacturers spares, waiting months to get paid for calls, and years for a credit note for returned spares.

I know that some readers of these forums might think it’s an oppurtunity to get some extra work but if these guy’s are having to approach sales associations to help them out, then there must be a reason!

I ‘m just waiting to see if they approach the boy scouts or the brownies on the bob a job scheme, surely this can only be a matter of time.

Seriousley though, why dont D&G tell them enough is enough and send the work to their own independant network because they are the ones who will start to loose their reputation and customers if this farce is allowed to continue.

    Re: NESN and kheath

It seems to me that we have something like the right rate from MFI and the right payment system from CDSL.
what we need to do now is play them off one another, like they used to do with us lot.
We need to say well this WP gives me £40 per call and this WP pay’s 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my invoice bang on the nail.
We need to hit them over the head with their competitors terms and conditions and demand that they follow suit if they want their work done.

If a WP cant do either of these, then the next question should be ‘Then what are you doing in our trade ?’

That said I still believe that it is a big mistake to have one big conglomerate controling all the work, as it is only a matter of time before there is an upset and you find out your back to being a puppett again.

    Re: NESN and kheath

Here’s an idea, If they (NESN) have radically changed their modus operandi and are now trying to be open and honest brokers regards supplying work to their members, then why dont they go down the same route that Connect Distribution did when they had the bitter divorce from NESN and started their own network.

By that I mean why dont they tear up their old discredited contract and submit a new one to DASA for their apraisal an approval as Connect did.

If they choose not to do this then I would say that nothing has really changed, only some of the names on the doors.

I would also strongley recommend that anyone who does decide to work for them again does so on a sub contract, job by job basis and stress that no contract is to be inferred.

Remember the work they took from you, or the work you had to walk away from has been given to others who are also about to be shafted if you decide to go back onboard.

They are obviousley pissed off with the B TEAM and need the A TEAM back to give themselves some credibility.

Remember lads for the first time with these buggers you are now in a position of strength. I am not suggesting that you abuse that position but by the same token, dont be in an all fire’d hurry to loose it !

    Joe,

This is exactly how the site works by giving feedback to all aspects of the trade so that things can get sorted. We need everyone involved service, sales, and manufacturers.

    Best Regards Del.

    Re: True Fame?

I was just thinking of all the times when you cant repair an appliance instantly because you need to order the spare and the customer informs you that they are going to report you to watchdog because you did’nt have the spare onboard.

I wonder how long it will be before they threten to report you to UK WHITEGOODS instead.

Then and only then will we know that we’ve arrived. Perhaps we should offer a prize for the first documented report of this happening. LOL

    Re: The Enemy!

The big problem is we dont know who the council have in mind as a the new director.
this can not be discussed in open forum as it would compromise any unsucessfull candidates existing employment. So might it be an idea to ask all existing members to e-mail the chairman and put forward the name of the person they would like to see at the helm giving the reasons for their choice. If enough people show up at York then we would know if the council were listening as we would have time to talk to one another and compare notes.

    Just a Thought

I dont want piss on anyone’ cornflakes but aint these the same people who would’nt let you use their spares pictures on our site just a few weeks ago.
I can see that it is in their best interest to climb into bed with us as they want to be the ones supplying spares if we do pull in some of our own work.
I would’nt give too much away until we’ve got it up and running.
